Can you delete unwanted DLC racing gear?

Hey guys,

I've just purchased the complete DLC pack. But not installed because I don't want to mess up my incomplete racing gear collection.

The problem is that you can't trade the DLC gear, even if they are the same as you can win in the seasonals.

So, because I don't need these non tradeable gear (I like to get the tradeable version of it from the seasonals/trading) & I don't want to mess up my gear collection, does anyone know if I can at least get rid of these unwanted gear by deleting them or am I doomed once they are in my savegame?

The delete option is there, but I am not going to test it.

Thanks, but it's not simple as that. I've tried it in the meanwhile for myself & it's a mess.

First, you can delete them, but it doesn't work like you might expect. F.e. I've received already the tradeable J.Gordon suit, installed DLC, deleted the non tradeable DLC J.Gordon suit but it deleted my tradeable one (and yes, it was sorted by "received" & I deleted the last received one).

Glad I have sent already before all tradeable gear to my 2nd account. So it's not a big loss.


My advice:

You can install each pack separately in GT5 after you have purchased the complete DLC pack. Install all other packs & leave the gear pack, till you have sent your gear to a 2nd "backup account". Then write down how many helmets & gears you have before the install of the DLC gear. Install the DLC gear, write down all new "last received" gear.

Now you have to delete the DLC gear which are available as a tradeable version (not the other 11 special suits, Simpson helmets & Black/White helmets/suits). And to make sure you got rid of every non tradeable gear, delete the same gear (which you've got as a tradeable version before) as well. The last step is to resent the deleted gear from your backup account. 👍

It doesnt care, because the DLC gear comes standing next to the gear you already have, for example in your case:
owned gear, jeff gordon racing suit (x5), the next item is Jeff gordon racing suit (x1)--> from the DLC,so in this example they are split.

Because of the item limit (7000) I have of each gear only one. So, how to spot the difference in my case if not even the "sorted by date/received" works?

It's not possible, mate.

Anybody figured this out yet?

I have 100% new gear and haven't installed my DLC gears yet because I still want to be able to trade all the sendable gear I own.

As I understand my random gears I get from DLC will just get added to my original gears and will say untradable even if I own 1 original and one from DLC?
