Hi, everyone. I'm in holiday and can't play GT5 because I'm away but
Have the sounds in GT5 improved after the new update ?
👍💡

they have changed, as far as i can tell, this way:
1 - audio from interior view is considerably louder than before and than outside view (good!)
2 - no more “flanger” and “phaser” audio effect from the outside view on long straights
3 - curbs sound is less prominent
4 - wind sound

More obnoxious blurps with a hint of burning 103 octane fumes. I like it, make me eyes watery.

Definitely on Daytona. If you go on the roof view and do a lap around Daytona it's like you can hear the changes in the track surface. Kinda cool.

the engines still sound like vacuum cleaners if that's what you're asking, they added some features no one was really concerned about, it's a nice touch though.

+1

Take a stock Plymouth Cuda 440 Six Pack 71', so nothing to it apart from add a titanium racing exhaust, take it to the track and rev it slowly at a standstill (in chase cam), I've never heard such an amazing engine sound from a GT game before.

I'll have to check it out. So far most of the V-8's I've sampled do a terrible job sounding right from idle to 3-4000. But when I checked out the SRT-8 from the DLC it sounded great, nice lumpy idle that transitioned to cam cacklin' mid range

I'm not sure if it was just the better sound system, but when I was playing GT5 at my friend's place I noticed for the dodge viper gts-r team oreca had a nice rumbly idle sound. engine sounds definitely seem to be louder.

The wind noise is great. I drove around on cape ring periphery for the new seasonal event and when my car went airborne at the jump after the roundabout, I could hear the wind wooshing under the car

Great update from me,engine sounds have been greatly improved with more character and the wind rush is great (the cars that is )

Surprised nobody has mentioned the tyre noise, gone has the loud constant high pitched squeel to a much more varying realistic protest until total grip has been lost.

All good for me.

I think the overly loud transmission whine was toned down as well, a definite plus to let us hear the engines and tires and wind now.

yes it has.
before was too loud, now if you drive a gt500 can hear a lot of engine from inside

I hope PD keep updating the sounds... because from 2.01 to 2.02... The Sounds Have Dramatically Increased... Especially racing GT500. Its simply Amazing. <3

I'm not so sure they actually changed many (any?) engine sounds, so much as maybe tweaked the mix levels of some cars. The annoying tranny whine is definitely lower in at least some cars, but still obnoxious. And most of the cars I've driven after the update still sound like ***t.

Yeah it's really amazing how they were able to get the smells right too... I mean, my living room reeking of race fuel? Incredible! :sly: LOL!

Yeah the annoying tranny whine is still there, but only if the car has a racing transmission which actually makes sense, I was able to switch out my favorite RUF Yellowbird back to default transmission and the tranny whine is gone... something which was not the case before 2.0.2

Very happy about that at least as it makes the non-racing roadcars much more pleasant to listen to.
