Restarting GT5

Just like to get peoples opinions on this. I have started again with a new account and trying as much as possible not to buy a car. Just use ones that you win. Has anyone else tried this?

So for I have got all golds on the b licence. Haven't started a-spec yet so I only have 4 cars (got the new Toyota free) and don't want to tune them either.
 
Thought you HAD to buy a car to get anything done. You don't have to use it.

Try going into the Sunday Cup and please tell me what it does.
 
Yes you do have to buy a car to begin the races. I'm actually doing the same although I have stealth and chromelines. First I'm doing all the licenses by getting gold. Got B and A and I'm half way through IC. But since I have a second disc, I reverted to 1.00 and I'm playing offline
 
You dont have to buy a car if you have DLC cars. But even if you dont the new '12 car is free, so no you are not required to buy a car. Started over myself
 
I did the same in my back up. Except I started it and got the free Vettel X1 and the stealth GTR and NSX and all the DLC. I only bought cars that I like but don't even use them.
 
After 2.02 you get the Toyota GT free so you don't have to buy one. Still only done the b licence but have done a lot of the special events so I have a lot of money. So far I have done the sunday cup, ff challenge, kei car, compact cup and the clubman cup. Used the demio for most and the little ofc-1 concept for the kei car. Only gone for tire upgrades and oil change but won all of them really easy. Only have what cars you get for prizes at the moment. Will keep updating this when I can

Well good luck! Also A license and IC licenses are pretty easy too, now I'm struggling with a few on IB but have a few gold too. Nothing less than a silver so far. What level have you reached?
 
So far I am level 14 I think, may be level 15. It's not that hard at the moment. Will keep people posted with how I do, may take a while though as I don't get chance to play to often.
 
I recently started over too and i only bought civic and now i have over 2.5 million and and the 6 cars ive won from events ive done.....I havent done any of the lincense yet and just been doing a couple special events and online special events.

I remember the ib licnese basically being some of the hardest ones just try and work on your braking on the tests.. you will be suprise how much time u start shaving off

I had to restart with a new profile just to be able to race at francorchamps, back then the dlc was limited to one user so i needed to create a spanish account just to be able to buy the dlc.

You make winnings easily, the only downside is the level up. reaching level 20ish goes fast and easy but then it will take you at least half a year to get to level 40 believe me :p

Thanks to 2.02 im playing back with my own profile and after one year just inches away of level 40 👍

Doing actually quite well, the ones I'm struggling on are the slalom challenge (took me forever to do the firsr one and this ones even harder) and IB-7, the rally one. I'm a great rally racer, it's my favorite part of the game, but I struggle golding this. However, I got within 0.010 of the gold. I was so mad!

EDIT: Woke up this morning and golded both, guess I just need a fresh mind, onto IB-8!

Done a little more today, finished the karting (all gold), first two parts of the nascar special, two parts of the top gear special (both gold), first rally special and the grand tour special. Also done a little more a-spec and started b-spec. Have 16 cars now and still haven't purchased a car yet. Going good so far.
 
Don't forget all the free B-Spec cars! :)

I don't see myself restarting, But I am revisiting the Grand Tour Specials, and just racing online whenever I can. 1st 8 months of this game, I never went online, then it was just seasonals for a while, now it's just online 500pp+ Nur 24hr track races till GT6 comes on the PS4.

I still need to buy a Tommy K ZZ-II, I had 3 regular SS in the UCD yesterday alone.....
 
Good car, had one on another profile. Just want to see how far I can get untill I have to either heavily mod a car or buy a new one. B-spec is quite tough to start with as bob is rubbish lol.
 
I did the same, wanted to go platinum with a new name ...if you did good enough on your first account you should have all the cars you need to win every race...i shared my cars from my old account (borrowed everything from old cars to x1)
 
I don't want to do that, just use car's I win. More enjoyable to not buy anything and just ablout win races. I'm not the best driver (read useless lol) but I can win with a few upgrades. I have over 1million cr but have hardly spent any of it.
 
Used the demio and xfr prize cars for two new a-spec seasonal and the civic type r and a lotus type 72 prize cars for the time trials. Golded them all and still not purchased anything yet :)

lol good night sleep usually will do the trick and i just started doing my lincense and my god the ib 7 is hard... ill get to it today after work and let u know how i did...

Im actually at lever 22 now and just baught a gallardo and a 98 sleighty still have over 5 million in credits

Nice good luck! I wasn't able to do the IB-8. Got so close again, within 0.07 of a second. I moved on and IA is really tough too. My current license status is 40 gold 3 silver 0 bronze. I really just need to do those 2 and finish IA to assur 60 gold, since S licenses are so easy. They're just all overtaking.

EDIT: Well I'm now just stuck on one in licenses, IA-2. Very dofficult. Starting S licenses soon, but they're easy. Leveling up is getting harder and I'm only level 15 :( Really want to get to 30 to try the X1 challenge but it's going to be a long time unless I find a good rank up race to grind.

Had a few days off but had a go last night. Up to lvl 23 in a spec and lvl 21 in b spec. Finished all special events (apart from amg and rally) and done a few seasonal events. Still no car bought and got nearly 10 million crds. Looks like I am going to have to buy a Lambo, Ferrari and a fgt, unless I win one lol.
 
I just did another user on my PS3 just to start over again keeping to have the most fun possible... I'm abusing a Triumph Spitfire right now. Loving it!

I have the same problem, but usually I get bored around lvl 25 or so.

OT: your avatar is gorgeous 👍 Love the Spyker interior!

If you are good then you should only have to buy a few cars (unless you are lucky enough to win them). I am not the best but I have given it a good go so far and the login bonus really helps early in the game too. Just frustrating not being able to do the new seasonals as I'm not buying a car lol
 
Been a while since I have updated this but been playing other stuff lol. Got a fgt for that championship and used it in some b-spec enduro races. Last night I was running the Indy 500 in b-spec, went and had a shower and when I came back it was switched off. I asked my wife if she had done it and she had not. Then I noticed the the power light was flashing, which I had never seen or heard of before. Looked it up and my heart sank, YLOD. Going to see what I can do to fix it, have no backup saves or anything, plus gt5 is stuck inside still.
