I'm looking to buy the T500 and th8 shifter but need a compact solution for using/storing it.

The wheel stand pro looks like the answer, however, I have concern that the shifter will be mounted in an awkward position. Specifically the shifter looks like it is mounted too high up and too close to the wheel.

Does anyone here have any experience with this combination? Is the setup more comfortable than it appears in the pictures? Or are there any good mods to place the shifter in a more realistic position?

I had my shifter mounted on a desk in the same way that the wheelstand has it mounted. It was easy to shift because the shifter was so close that you barely had to move your hand. You could fabricate something up to get it lower and farther back but it feels fine the way it is mounted next to the wheel.

I felt the same way as you when I was judging from pictures. But I got used to it very quickly. Us stand users have to make some sacrifice for the portability, but you can justify it by knowing the shifter is mounted in the position where you can get your hands back on the wheel the fastest. I don't own a WSP but my Xlerator wheel stand mounts the shifter in the same fashion.

It's not too bad, you get used to it. I recommend using the G27 shifter mount and flipping it upside from how they recommend. That way the shifter doesn't sit to high.

That does look better. But doesn't that mean buying the WSP that is intended for the G27 and not the T500? Are they both compatible?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but if you order the T500 wheelstand pro you receive 2 mounts, one for the T500 and one for the G27. If that isn't true just e-mail then and ask for a G27 mount only included with the stand.

As for buying the G27 WSP, it is compatible with the T500. It may not be quite as study but it will work fine. My WSP was originally for the DFP/DFGT, then I bought a G27 and upgraded the stand by purchasing a couple parts from them, much cheaper than buying a new stand. I then got a T500 + TH8RS and used them on that stand with the shifter mount flipped with no issues at all. Very stable. I hope that helps.

Edit: I shouldn't say no issues, I couldn't hard mount the pedals but they fit and didn't move. I used it in the rally position.

In the same boat.
Just came back from exchange and I since I'm moving too a bigger apartment I can finally get a wheel stand.
The WSP still competitive?

I put it through it's pace's today with the T500RS for the first time properly and I think I've knackered it already. The hinge with the bolt on the vertical pole which adjusts the wheels angle doesn't tighten any more for me. The wheel is just too heavy and the stand just folds :(

I got in touch with WSP just now, so hopefully they'll get back to me with a solution. Otherwise I'll have to buy a more studier stand or DIY one myself. My computer desk isn't stable enough unfortunately so I need separate support for it.

Did you try tightening up the bolts around the quick release? I remember I tightened up my bolts to make sure there was no movement.

I've never seen my WSP just fold out of the blue tho. That sounds bad :scared:
