Further explanation of the theme, as described by Primus Ortus:

"We know of the ZR1's reputation at Nurburgring, yet can it fare so well in Belgium, at
Spa- Francorchamps? I believe the ZR1 is much better suited for Spa, with its sweeping turns
and wide open straights. What the 'Ring is to hotlaps, Spa is to racing. Have fun!"

CAR: Corvette ZR1 (C6) '09 (No RM, but modifications, such as aero parts, are perfectly fine.)
LOCATION: Spa Francorchamps

Please, ensure you read and understand all requirements for this competition. Failure to follow
the rules may result in disqualification. If you have any questions, please, send me a Private Message.

This Thread has everything you need to know.

  • There must be at least some detail of the background (location) visible in the picture that can later be identified to be
part of the location specified in the theme. If the location is not immediately clear from the picture you must
provide the exact location if it's queried.
  • Only one entry per user allowed. It must be that user own work and never used in another competition.
  • Do not ask other members to choose your entry.
  • Entry post must be marked with a FINAL ENTRY text.
  • Entries may only be changed once and it must be indicated clearly.
  • Entries must be posted in either thumbnail or a preview. We recommend you to link either to it's full size.
  • Posts containing bigger previews than allowed, full sizes or links only will be ignored.
  • Previews should not exceed the limit of 500px in either direction and have any effect not present in the original image.
  • It's recommended the usage of a free image hosting service, such as ImageShack, Photobucket or Flickr.
  • If you want your entry to have a link to your full sized image in the poll, make your preview a link to the full sized photo.
  • Only the Judge's favorite 15 entries will get through to the poll.
  • Keep in mind that the Host of this competition may ask for the original image and it must be submitted if so.
It's recommended to store the original image (from the USB stick) until competition week ends.

  • No other editing, besides proportionally resize and rotate, is allowed outside GT5 Photomode.

My apologies for the late start - didn't have access to my computer last night except very briefly in which time I posted the polls and my PhotoShop crapped out (It won't load) so I had to create new banner templates in PaintShop. Anyhow we are up and running again now. :)

Ohhh... I have such an idea for this... and maybe a possible loophole... :D

Glad to see that i3zoz started with a picture of Spa with weather change. I anticipated that some would ask whether it was permissible. The answer - you betcha.

That said, it looks like this comp and the PMC 62 comp are both on Spa. Sorry about that - we hadn't used Spa before this week's themes, so it was inevitable that we would have the same idea. Also, surprisingly, no one had chosen the ZR1 as a theme car until now. So there you have it. If you haven't purchased the DLC, you can still get SPA in the seasonal events - just remember that this is a CCCL comp, and only your ZR1 will be allowed in the shot. I hope everyone has fun on this one and we get a lot of entries.

Last thought, I apologize in advance if I don't choose your photo for the poll. I will try to pick photos for both their artistic and technical merit. Nevertheless, beauty remains in the eye of the beholder, and some good photos will inevitably still be left out. When the poll is up, if you want some C&C, don't hesitate to ask. :)

P.S. - @Gtuned - just so you know, I am an attorney, loopholes are my specialty. I can't wait to see what you have in store...However I think I know what you're going to do, and here's a little clarification in case I'm right. The ZR1 for this theme is the Corvette ZR1 (C6) '09. (Hope I didn't spoil your fun... :sly:)

PPS - Lastly, I think Nato, much like Slipz and Revolution, deserves a much warranted shout out. These guys take alot of time out of their schedule on behalf of the photomode community here at GTP and they do a great job. Thanks Nato!

How did you do that effect ? It looks seriously edited

It was raining and I used the post processing filter with a high exposure for it. I also zoomed in pretty much, like this you get that kind of cloudy look.
But I can send you the original any time. OR even better, try to recreate it! :)
It's on the first sharp corner in Spa. ;)

I would like to see the original please , don't mean to be rude be I can't beliave in that .

The gauntlet has been thrown... :) There is an easier way to see whether bmxmitch's picture was edited in this case werty - click on his photo, which will take you to his Flickr gallery, close the lightbox view and click on the "actions" drop-down menu. Then click on "View Exif Info". This will show you (in this case) whether editing software may have been used. The Exif Info for BMXMitch's photo is very typical of an unedited picture taken in GT5. I doubt that BMXMitch's photo is edited - it's just a good photo... :)

A word of caution - the exif info is not always determinative of whether a person has edited his photo, as it may show a false positive. For example, we are allowed to proportionally resize and rotate the photo in PMC comps. If a person does this in a program such as Photoshop or Gimp, it may show up in exif, but it would still be legal.

One question , how can I put flickr in english ?

I'm not sure I follow you my friend. BMXMitch uses Flickr (www.flickr.com) to store photos he uses on GT5. If you click on his photo, you will automatically be directed to his photo in Flickr. If that's not what you mean, please feel free to PM me (or probably more appropriately, Nato or Slipz) with other questions, so that we do not take up this thread with non-photo stuff. I'm only trying to help, but if you should still have a question about the validity of a photo, Nato or Slipz would be the one to contact I think.

Also, CCCL means "certain car, certain location". Typically, this has been interpreted in past competitions to mean one car. If Nato has a different opinion, it is his discretion.

I don't think Mitch's shoots is edited.
Another thing, on that kind of exposure if edited, that GT logo would be much more visible than transparent.

FINAL ENTRY

.The Hill of Adrenaline.

Can we have more than 1 car ?

The accepted standard here is that only the 'certain car' is allowed in the shot, however you can have more than one of that certain car. There's an example of that in this weeks Countach poll. :)

Also many thanks Primus for the shout out and to those who responded in kind - very much appreciated. 👍
