GT5 Tire Wear? WTF?

Sup guys,

I did search this under all the GT5 forums, but didn't find anything... So yeah!

Is the tire wear in GT5 really very good? I mean, do LM cars really have to pit every 15 minutes? 15 minutes on hard slicks? really? is that how often the real LM cars pit? I doubt it?

Same thing with the Ring, people go on track days and drive the ring all day on the same tires... But my Sivlia had to pit every 3 laps for new tires...

It hardly seems realistic at all, what are the communities thoughts on it?

Without tuning and driving carefully, you can burn through racing hard slicks in 10-15 minutes. But, drive carefully and modify the suspension setup a little and you can easily get 35-40 minutes out of them.

This is what I came to expect when doing the Le Mans 24 in the Bentley Speed 8... and that was using the rather heavy DS3 controller. Just really got to listen to the tyres, if they're noisy, they are not happy.
