Welcome to the league ronin. Us at GTRRL will always welcome new members to our league. This league has 3 different series, you can race 1 series or all 3, it's up to you. All we ask is that anyone who joins will follow our rules and race clean. The GTRRL management strive to make racing fun and competitive for anyone who is joining our league. Next race is Daytona infield.

For those wondering what are good laps, 1.31's seem to be elite at the moment. 1.32s are good. And I would think most people could find themselves in the 1.33s-1.34s.

Wow that's a quick time, let's see if I can compete close to that tonight. This series seems to be made up of quality drivers:tup:

Thanks Ronin, we have some really strong drivers in the league. But we all also like to have fun so it's a nice balance. And even if someone isn't the fastest in qualifying, the weight ballast system helps to even things up in the race so that's what's really important

Reserved for LMP Qualifying times at Daytona

Just a reminder that if you are a locked in driver you get two attempts of two laps. For those not locked in you only get one run of two laps.

The word "DONE" indicates a driver who does not have any attempts remaining
The "*" means the driver is locked in based on being top 6 in points or having finished in the podium the last race.

Qualifying updated, tonight will be the last chance to get in for a qualifying run. Those guys who are locked in and haven't qualified will be moved to the rear of the lineup. Still got room for a few more drivers. Daytona Road will be 56 laps lasting around 1 hour and 30 mins. Yes we will run the full 56 laps.

Ok good, I can't tell you how many times I have seen guys forget this at the start of league races.

Dang my shoulders are sore. These endurance races really wear you out :P (and it was only 1.5 hours... oh boy!)

Great win Mike. Definitely good strategy and great car.

Thanks a lot was a fun grueling race. My shoulders are a little sore myself. Had a great car tonight and a great pit strategy. Overall was a great race.

was a long fun race for sure. consistency is key in these cars for sure, probably only reason I'm able to finish up front with the weight penalties. can't wait to get the next to races done with and start the last chase we will have in our series.

@Dragongt83, By last do you mean that this is the last season for this series?

No it's the last chase our league will have. We have a form of the NASCAR type chase for the championship at the end of the season that we will be abandoning next season. Next season this series will become a dual series with a gt1 class added to the mix.

All of the details on that will be released at a later date.

ya gonna be great. lmps will be tuned down to current specs of ALMS series. i.e. 475-525 HP. so lmps will be great to drive, and GT1s will just add to the mix. we'll have a 10 round season and if twin motegi is added to gt5 then we'll just add it to the schedule. we're currently testing our list of GT1 cars and maybe shortening the list of LMPs. we will also only qualify and race on racing medium tires.

Yeah it's been a pretty quite week around here. I know the head admins are working on testing for next seasons series. I have a room up now for practicing and qualifying.

League practice done for HSR. Looks like the Bentley will be the cars to beat at the moment. They are all in the low 54 second brackets (.0xx-.3xx). I'd imagine a pole will be out of that stable. 53.974 is best time at the moment. Peugeots look pretty good as well in the .3xx range. Audi's are handling great but are lacking some speed on the straights and are running in the higher 54s. Mazdas looking a bit off all around and running high 54s or low 55s.

This track will really benefit the cars with the most top end speed given the long period of time spent full throttle. But also must have a car that can handle the esses perfect.

Toyota GT-ONE could be a player also but haven't seen laps by Dark Horse Sport yet.

qualifying times have been updated, post 49. Race is gonna be 64 laps. Goodluck friday night fellas. Still one more day to get your qualifying in.

Yeah Bentleys look fast for sure. My peugeot is pretty good not the best for qualifying. We will see how it goes in the race, just got to get the tire wear a little better.

toyota is definitely the best, 53.7s or better for quali runs, might have to pace down to match on tire wear with the rest cuz the tire wear is brutal

Yeah waiting for panoz to run his lap tomorrow hopefully. He could easily beat the top time. The Toyota is so stout through the first sector, like .5 seconds up on mine in the Audi R8. Glad we finally got the Audi's down to the .3s from help from canze but still need to work on RTrim.

Turn 2 really is the tire eater. If you don't catch yourself you will easily slide the tires way to much for there liking :P

My car is pretty good in first sector but it really lacks the handling imo of the bentley and audi in the s turns. I have tried a bunch of things to make it better but seems like if i make the front end of the car turn a little better for s turns i end up with to good a turning in the high speed turns which of course does not like the tires at all. So you kind of got to find a medium on your setup, hopefully i will figure it out.

I feel you on that. Always been a problem with that with the Peugeot. Getting that front end to turn is always fun haha :). Good thing is what it loses in the esses it almost makes back up on the straights. This track just has the Toyota and Bentleys name all over it haha.

Biggest thing people will forget about though is tire management. It is basically an oval but its quite hard on tires

Yeah tires are gonna be a key i believe, and i think it will come down to who can be smart in turn 2 high speed corner. So easy to drive it to hard there and turn them tires red.

No doubt that will be the trouble corner come race time

I have one final practice room/qualifying room up. If you haven't qualified yet for HSR tonights the last chance.

Sorry guys, I've never been 4 secs off the pace before. There was no point in racing.
