..:: Ferrari Challenge Event ::..

This will become in the future a series based on the Ferrari Challenge

When:

Friday october 19th
The qualify will start at 10pm (BST) - 11pm (CEST) - 5pm (EDT) for 15 minutes.
The room will be officially open 30 minutes before the start of qualify.


Regulations:

A maximum of 16 drivers
Tyres: Sport Softs Only
Room Quality: High / Chat Quality: Off
Penalties: Low also during qualify
All aids off except ABS & Driving Line (driver's choice)
Light Damage / Visual Damage Off
Tyre wear & Fuel depletion On / Grip Reduction Real
Slipstream Weak / Boost Off
Race Start Order: Fastest first on grid with false start check

Ferrari 458 Italia '09

Tuning prohibited
Brake Balance setting allowed



Point system: (not used for this test race)

20 - 15 - 12 - 10 - 8 - 6 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1

Racing rules and treatment of race incidents:

We apply the general OLR-rules that you can find here.
To put it simply: behave in the races as if you were in a real world car race.
Car contact incidents are part of racing and will always happen. Nobody is perfect.
Everybody makes involuntary driving errors. The important thing is to stay fair.


Here is the procedure to follow in case of an important incident:

- In case of an incident, always first look at the replay
- If after seeing the replay, you still think another driver has disadvantaged you, first contact him by PM.
- If that does not permit to resolve the incident, send a PM to the race steward (host).
- Steward will review the replay and if necessary take a race-decision.
- Never accuse another driver publicly, it is forbidden by WSCC and GTP-policy and can lead to definitive exclusion.


REMEMBER TO CLEAR THE ONLINE CACHE EACH TIME YOU PLAY THE GAME

In order to have GT5 working flawlessly on-line besides clear your cache from the in-game options/network menu it's better to open,
for the PS3 IP address, the following ports on your firewall (from GT5 manual inside the game):

TCP 80
TCP 443
TCP 5223
UDP 3478
UDP 3479
UDP 3658
UDP 5658

and also, if it's possible in your router, to put the PS3 IP address in the DMZ function.
This two operations will make possible to have less lag and room connection problems.

This is an interesting web site to help you operate your router to open the correct ports

The formula for a subsequent championship will be as follows:
(closest possible to the real Ferrari Challenge but with some changes)

Each event will consist in two thirty minutes races:

Race One - Ferrari 458 Italia '09 (tuning prohibited - fixed BHP)
10 minutes qualify - around 30 minutes race

Break 10 minutes

Race Two - Ferrari 430 Scuderia '07 (tuning prohibited - fixed BHP)
10 minutes qualify - around 30 minutes race

Pit Stop not required

Track list:

*US Challenge*
Laguna
Indy Road
Daytona Road

*Japan Challenge*
Suzuka
Fuji F
Motegi

Point system for each race (top ten score):

20 - 15 - 12 - 10 - 8 - 6 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1

2 points bonus for pole position
1 point bonus for fastest in race lap time

There will be a champion for each Challenge (Europe - US - Japan) and a global campion for all of them.

FERRARI CHALLENGE JAPAN CUP

FERRARI CHALLENGE TROFEO PIRELLI GLOBAL CUP

Should there be a dead heat in the case of any of the titles to be awarded, the largest number of first place finishes, then the largest number of seconds, thirds and so forth, will be considered until one of the drivers emerges as the winner.

For the purposes of the final score only for the FERRARI CHALLENGE TROFEO PIRELLI GLOBAL CUP will be discarded the two worst results, the scores in question may belong to different Challenge events (that means also that a driver can skip one event if cannot attend that day).
The final score will therefore consider a maximum of 16 results out of 18.

I will prepare a detailed pdf with all regulations possible based on the real thing

The actual season will start only if we have at least 12 or more drivers in it.
Otherwise I will postpone it maybe in January 2013

I dunno if I will be able to practise this until the day of the race. But I suggest everyone to test the track and settings (expecially low penalties) to get used to the limit acceptable for the Monza chicanes 👍

No problem anastasis, let's focus on today's race :) for now I don't think to start the championship afterward because me too I'm full of things to do :guilty:
