I'll keep you posted though... the enduro sounds awesome :D

then you might be interested in the upcoming endurance serie! if you're interested you might help us out in pre-season tests 👍

again my opinion/experience.

start at at least 30% wet if you plan a wet start. Else intermediate tires are burnt in 2-3 laps. Also people that have tested too little will have very BIG troubles adapting to the 100% dry to the incoming wetness in the track making things dangerous.

also leave pit open at all times! different cars have very different needs so as long as all pit at leat once it'll be ok.

Noted karsten.

Anyone wishing to support or oppose him?

I think start at 0 pct and leave pit window open all race and i think 9 laps is probably better than 8

OK then.

Race will be 9 laps, with one mandatory pit-stop (no window).

I don't know how I can fairly decide between 0 and 30 lol, I need more views! I can see the merits of both. In fact, I would personally rather avoid complicating the race further by allowing conditions to be such that people could use dries.

Starting on 0 means everyone starts on sports soft and it opens the race up some more , fwd and rwd get to try to open some kind of gap on the 4wd before rain starts or gets too heavy .

We can test it later rolo

Hmm, whilst it may be 0% surface water when the track is reset before checks, it certainly doesn't stay that way when the race begins.... it could be any number by the time we go... depends how long checks take.

We will have to be speedy and do everything before and reset track last then line up and start

You have to reset track before you do checks otherwise it kicks you back out.

I think once no one goes into settings after checks we have nothing to worry about . For this race we have to change up the starting procedure a bit but i think everything should be fine .

OK, so far through testing the following is confirmed:

75% Weather
0% Weather Changeability

As for surface water, it will be starting at 0% when the track is reset, however... it will not stay that way when the races begin! So it is vital that we do checks and grid, and that you are ready to go, as quickly as possible! The surface water will keep increasing the longer we have to wait! This will affect everyone's strategies!

s4 will still be in? surprising to say the least!

For now. There are always options like adding 100/150kg to it. It can be taken out if it can't be slowed up enough though.

Done some further testing with the Alfa 156 on Deep Forest. After sow tweaking and tuning I was able to do low 1.23's in the 345 bhp setting.
You may decide whether we shall keep or dump it.

Hmm, that's not really fast enough. I think it's best if we leave that one. Thanks for doing the running Julle 👍

Yeah it's not going to be competitive...
You're welcome :)

Newsflash!

I've got the connection sorted but it's still pretty temperamental... count me in for Monza, but if I leave the room, it's because I've disconnected, not because I don't like you all

btw if i'm going to be in the indipendent championship shouldn't my previous results be counted too?

Nope, because you weren't an Independent until now.

Same works for priesty, but in reverse - he's now got a team, so he'll no longer score Independent points. But his previous scores won't be added to his Team points.

convoluted, but ok then :D

I like the idea of weather, should make things interesting. We've talked about it for ages but it's gonna work this time 👍

Done some running at Monza but not as quick as I was last time, I think I've peaked at this circuit

Already looking forward to the planned enduro at Suzuka as well... a 15-minute sprint an a 45-minute feature race would go down well :)

Enduro? Now we're talking. Any details about enduro been released or are we focusing on monza for this week?

Still waiting for the track details to be agreed!

Like the idea of an enduro tho, could be fun.

Monza:

75% Weather, 0% Weather Changeability, 0% Surface Water. However, as I said on a previous page, surface water is set to 0% when the track is reset, and does not return to 0 when the race begins. If you want a good chance to run on dries, or if you want to plan any kind of strategy, it's vital that checks and grid are done quickly, and that everyone is prompt! Surface water will continually increase, and quickly! Not sure how we should handle people DC'ing this week, with this being the case?

Endurance Event:

So far, the plan is this:...

Suzuka (full circuit) is swapped with Tokyo to become Round 8 of the championship, and Suzuka becomes the venue for the endurance event. This round will be worth double points in both races.

Race 1 at Suzuka will be shortened to a 10-15 minute sprint race with no pit window (it'll be like 4 laps, so what's the point in pitting?). This race will be worth double points. EDIT: Sports:Soft tyres are all that will be allowed.

Race 2 at Suzuka will be either a 45 or 60 minute endurance race, with 2 mandatory stops (all to be confirmed). This race will be worth double points.

EDIT: 60 minutes looks more likely, with 2 mandatory pit-stops (no windows), and availability of all Sports tyre compounds.

Yes please keep the pit window rule for the endurance races

For Race 1 as well as 2?

Race 1's window would be something like lap 2-3.

Race 2 would have two windows, laps to be confirmed obviously.

i don't see the point of pit windows while running an endurance race. sounds plain silly.

Drivers should choose if concentrating in a fast setup that will grind tires or a more conservative one that might save one pit. This is strategy and racing IMHO.

@kk, peiesty, rob,
i'm planning an endurance only serie... interested in it?

I must agree with karsten. For our usual sprints it great with a pit window, but for an endurance race the strategy is lost when you are forced in at some point.

Oh, and I might be interested in your series karsten :)

Yeah I agree as well, I don't think we should have a pit window, no one is going to be able to make it without pitting anyway so just keep it open for as and when.
