I am creating a series very similar to that of the 1998 FiA GT Championship. Not all the cars are from 1998 but are from around then. There will be two classes like real life. GT1 and GT2. All the cars raced in the their class either in the FiA GT Championship or at Le Mans. There will be tracks that featured in the FiA GT Championship and also Le Mans.

CIRCUITS

Daytona Road Course- 37+1 laps
20th of April Midday GMT

CARS
There will only be two of the same cars allowed and 8 cars per class. The GT1 class is around 680 pp and GT2 is around 630 pp. The exact specifications stated must be used for your car. Cars can have any modifications other than rigidity improvement.

QUALIFYING

Qualifying will work as follows. There will be a ten lap race. Within the ten laps all drivers must attempt to do as fast a lap as they possibly can. Only a drivers fastest lap will be counted towards the grid position. The finishing position in the qualifying race has NO EFFECT on the grid position. If there are any incidents during qualifying they will be reviewed and may possibly be penalized with a grid position drop. Depending on the severity of the incident there may be a greater or lesser penalty. No points will be gained from qualifying.

RACE

All races will be roughly 1 hour long. The race will start with a double file warm up lap a 62 mph/100 km/h. The GT1 Cars will start in front of the GT2 cars. Cars may begin to accelerate at the start/finish line. All drivers are required to make one pits top. If this requirement is not met it will result in disqualification. All tyres may be fitted. Any incidents during the race will be review and if needed will be penalized with a time penalty. Depending on the severity of the incident there will be a greater of lesser penalty.

CHAMPIONSHIP

Points are awarded to the top 6 finishers of each class in the order of 10–6–4–3–2–1. The GT1 class and the GT2 class championships are completely separate.
There will also be a constructors championship so teammates will need to work together. The two drivers points will be combined to form the constructors championship. Teammates must use the same car.

GT1
Toshost 10 points
F1WORLDCHAMPION 6 points

GT2
ScorpionPVHV57 10 points
DRZ-hatfield 6 points

TYRES

I have seen many other series use tyre regulations so I have decided to put them in my series. For both race and qualifying you will only have 1 hard set, 2 medium sets, 1 soft set, 2 intermediates and 2 full wets. This will encourage tyre conservation. The tyre regulations will be reviewed after the first round.

CAUTIONS

There will be cautions in this series under the following rules. If two drivers come together and crash they both must write caution in the chat. The leader must slow down to 100 km/h/60 mph and wait for other drivers to catch up. When all the drivers get behind the leader the race will restart at the start/finish line under the same rules as the race starts. If there is a large accident at the start of the race involving three or more cars the race will be red flagged and everyone must exit the race and the race will start again under the normal starting procedure.

I already running a series with these cars- link in my signature. Toyota didn't fit because it's a lot quicker than the other GT1s.

i have already seen it but i wanted to make mine as close as possible to real 1998 FIA GT and I just put some more weight and less hp to equalise the toyota. what do you mean to link in your signature

what is rsquo

Nissan, Mercedes, and McLaren should have similar horsepower (McLaren F1 is 950kg for a reason). Panoz can easily compete if the power wasn't so high. GT2 (GT) should be Viper GTS and BTR. C5R never competed outside of the ALMS in 1999. #51 Viper should have about 50 more hp at these restrictions, the car is much slower on the straightaway. Restrict the Toyota TS020 so it goes the same straightaway speed as the GT1s, and make its downforce restricted to 50-70 (you can check this by using pp).
By looking at your regulations the way they are now, the Mercedes CLK-LM will smoke the GT1 class, unless someone really knows how to drive a TS020. I feel bad for anyone that uses a Lister Storm V12 as there is just no way to configure that car.
I'm here just to give you suggestions and not trying to be degrading in any way.
Take this from someone that has already ran a decent LM98GT series.

If you take the downforce of the Toyota TS020 and make it even with GTs (50-70), the car actually is competitive.

That's cool. Just telling you I run a series just like this. Were on our second season actually.

The Storm was left out my series because it's unrealistic weight. The Panoz was originally less than 1000kg IRL, but in GT5 it's 1150kg :ouch:

The car is more LMP than GT, that's why I didn't add it.

This isn't your series, what doesn't work for your series may work on his.

Okay Mr. Officer  I didn't say it wouldn't work here. I said it didn't work in mine. The Toyota didn't partake in FIA GT races for one thing. And GT5 classifies it as a LeMans Prototype. Even the R390 is classified as such, but it fits better with it's weight and downforce level. Mind your own business please, I'm giving some input not putting him down.

I have equalised all the cars. The GT1 cars run about a 2:02 at spa and GT2 runs about 2:13. The toyota may be slower in a straight line but it makes it up around the bends. All the cars have an equal laptime and some are slower in some sectors and faster in others.

Would any of you guys arguing like to sign up. And scorpion which viper do you want to use.

The Panoz is much slower around the tight tracks than the Viper. It needs at least 30hp more than it has now. The Vette is good though.

freshseth83 would you like to participate.

About the toyota. In 1998 Le Mans it was a GT1 car but after that year when mercedes destroyed everyone no one wanted to compete against them so there was no gt1 in 1999. The toyota in gt5 in from 1999 was in the LM900 class so it is classified as a lmp.

It was just a naming issue. GT1 was the top class, but Toyota never did any FIA GT races. FIA GT dropped the GT1 class in 99 because Mercedes cleaned up, you're right. I never included it because it was too quick and I didn't want to limit downforce on people.

As for participating, sorry I can't. I think the cars are too powerful and I don't have time in my schedule to partake.

What's the time and day this is being run at?

And what is going on with that endurance race?

I will decide on the time and date when there are 16 people. And the edurance race will happen later when there are 16 people.

GT5 is almost dead, so be satisfied to get 8-10 people,

Possibly, I'm struggling to find time to run in events these days,

I am going to keep track of your league. Some of my friends and I want to do something similar to what you are doing. I came up with a car list. We were also thinking of a GT4 cup series since most of the cars can be modified to mimic the GT4 car specs. Weight and now PP since 2.10 are issues. Keep at it man.

Once you can tell us when it's up, I'll see if I can participate. R390 if I can
