I'm a old tuner of GT cars for over 15 years, been through each instalment of the game and we are at GT5, overall great game even though it at the same time a little bit disappointing overall. After a few patches have the game working much better and the driving dynamics MUCH improved I figure I might as well post up some settings of mine and see if they work as well for others as they do for me.

Where to start? I figure go with the car that I've had a crush on for years and one I have as much chance of owning in real life as I do a Veyron lol, the uber rare STi 22b.

The gears I've been resetting with each patch and adjusting the tune mostly, this is since around 1.07. I've fallen to simply adjusting the FD and TS slider because redoing them each patch is tedious and around 1.07 and with each change in dynamics the tune needs adjusting. However since this ill be my first posted tune, I'll go through the gears to tune in any improvements I can.

Since this ill be my I first posted tune, I'll absorb feedback and impressions and continue to work on it if need be until finalized.

Balance Tune is a tune made to 50/50 weight split. IMO some cars handle just fine as is with no balancing, as in order to balance the car you need to add weight, added mass will affect the performance of the car negatively so the benefit of the balancing has to out weight the negative impacts of the added mass. IMO the balanced tuned cars are easier to handle, more forgiving even though some may take non-balanced cars around the track quicker, it won't be by much. I figured a balance tune would be a good tune to publish as I feel more people can use it, it won't be limited to only great drivers.

I tested this on 3 different tracks; Deep Forest, Nurburgring and Trial Mountain(My favorite courses, all bumpy with crests and on and off camber corners). Initially, on Deep Forest I rode 10 laps. It took about 2 to get used to the 85/15 Torque Split but once you learn how to drive it then it becomes a monster of a Subie. It grips and grips and grips. I don't know what course you tuned this for, but the dampers were a bit to stiff for these tracks and bounced around a lot. I pulled a 6:41.XXX on the Nurb and in my books that's really good. Overall, it's balanced and really fun to drive. Rating is a 8.5/10(I docked the 1.5 off because of the random oversteery moments. The only thing I would do differently would be change the Torque Split to 50/50 and adjust the suspension and LSD to help with understeer.oversteer. Very fun little 22B!👍

That's good to hear, and I''m glad you took the time to get a feel for how to push her.

Im weird in that I like to run my cars, and do most tuning on tracks located in the cars home country. Japanese in Japan, German on the Nurb, Americans on Indy and Daytona Road Courses for example. The Scooby was mostly Tuned on Fuji, Suzuka, Tscuba and a little bit at Top Gear Test Track, that first hard corner is great for exposing poorly tuned brakes IMHO so I like to use it after tuning to see if the tune is quirky.

Those tracks being rather smooth it does not surprise me when the car is brought to tracks like the Nurb, softer dampening and springs may be in order.

I like my AWD cars to drive more like RWD than FWD as is often the case with a more 50/50 split, looking at one of the best performing road going AWD cars the Skyline GT-R, I use its AWD system to model my tuning. It using little to no power split up front until needed, I think it varies between 1 and 10% up front until the ALTESA system decides the front need more and increases the power sent to the front accordingly. Since we dont have a variable system for splitting power sent front and rear I lean to 10/90 but bring it up as the front end stays rotating as I like, when I get a tad too much on power understeer I drop it down a click. I feel this lets me "toss" the car into a corner then power out of it. On those bumpy tracks though a touch more up front would relieve some of that oversteer you speak of.

I thank you greatly for checking out the tune, and I'm glad you enjoyed the ride. I will check out the Nurb and maybe put together a Nurb Special tune that would also be more suitable to tracks like Deep Forest and Trial Moutain.

No problemo, glad I could help. I believe that if the tuning is done right(mostly LSD) then 50/50 is the best way to go. It's stable, if tuned correctly(time consuming) little to no understeer and very planted. If you would like I could help you with the Nurburgring tune, just add my PSN and we could go testing in a lounge. Maybe come out with a few more cars? Just an idea. 👍

I'm running a JBPS3, I can get on PSN (This can change at any time lol), but I don't go often mostly for DLC, I'd be glad to jump in a room when I get a chance to but wont be able to until next month (BS Canadian Bandwidth Caps) I'll hit the "Ring and put a little something together.

I actually don't like my Tarmac ripping AWD cars to have 50/50, I like to go the route of the Skyline GTR and tune the centre diff more in the direction of 10/90. The Centre Diff if tuned right with LSD tuning is an awesome tool to manipulate the platform handling characteristics to suite my driving style (I like to think of it as Brake late, flick in, power out) The offset split being the key ingredient. Higher grip levels on smooth tracks allow more aggressive tuning where Tracks like the ring will require toning the stiffness and aggressive power spit down to accommodate the track.

I keep a 50/50 split when off road, specially my WRC cars, where I want to use the AWD system much differently then I do on Tarmac. Thats a Tuning Style thang I guess, NO right or wrong just many ways to skin a Cat, what works for some might be odd at times to others.

Yea, I'm in Canada aswell. I have a 40 or 60 gb bandwidth limit which is stupid. I know a buddy that has 10 gigs a month(brutal).

Anyways, your right, no right or wrong way.. Just YOUR way. Whatever fits whoevers driving style y'know. But yes, if you are interested in the testing and driving in the nurb or even want to make die tunes with me then drop me a Private Message. 👍

If you guys are lookin to test tunes. I have alot of tunes that are to my knowledge un-tested. Always lookin for feedback to make my knowledge base larger and to better myself as a tuner. If your interested let me know or just test as desired.

Love the 22b. Have a couple different tunes I'm trying. Mostly use on the ring, so can't be too stiff and bouncy.
Have idea of adding more then 200 pounds I question but will try it out.

Thanks for the tune.

I've been messing with a LS7 powered Civette for a few days now, when I'm done I'll take the Skoobie to the Ring for a Nur Special Tune. Looking over the set up, the aggressive camber probable can be toned down some lol.

Thanks again for checking out the tune
