I had to fire up Stellarium to find out what they were last night. Very cool. 👍

Yeah I saw them quite clearly, I didnt know what they were until I read this thread... I guess thats why they were so damn bright.

My view was obstructed by buildings and trees. :(

Looks like we might be getting a clear night tonight (for a change) so hopefully I'll catch it later 👍

man i saw them when i was coming home, one was just under the moon and the other quite close above it...really wanted a pic but i forgot lol maybe i can get em tonight then

I got a great view from up on the hill at Glasgow University - there was also a guy from The Daily Record newspaper with a huge camera and was getting some beautiful pictures of the whole thing, with the Kelvingrove art gallery in the foreground. He even got a long exposure of a plane flying just under the moon too, which looked fantastic... I wanted to ask him to email me the pic, but I didn't! I expect to see it in tomorrow's paper though, and hopefully the pic might be on the website too...

I managed to took one shot. I had to took the shot at evening, because It had stop raining.

Both are taken at the same time (just after 5 pm) and location. Looks like last night was the best time to see it. :guilty:

What a beautiful display of the Moon and planets.

Its too bad for me that it was cloudy and i did not get to view them.

Like the picture in the last post states the Moon's movement among the stars moves to the west (northern hemisphere) a little more every day. It equals about an hours time in difference each day, meaning tonite the Moon will be in the same spot as it was last night but 1 hour later.

Unfortunatly that means the Moon, Venus and Jupiter will not be as close as on Monday.

The planets will be though.

It was a good thing that the night was perfectly clear outside our home to see the 'smiley-face' that was created as a result of their unique positioning:) Bad thing is, my camera was useless as a means of capturing its magnificence:(

Thankfully, the local media outlet, the Herald Sun, provided us these views:

hell, I've been seing those two for over a week, dead south. now i know what I was looking at.

At least the internet delivers what I couldn't see. I think the sky goes away in Michigan in early November and comes back in late March. I haven't even see the sun in about a week. It's a shame too as I really wanted to see the whole alignment thing happen and bring out my telescope.
