As most of you probably know there are many different events that you can participate in for GT5P right now. There are so many different events going on at all times that it's kind of hard for me personally to keep track of the different dates and times. I don't know if that is the case with everyone, but for me it definitely is. I was thinking to myself today that maybe it would be a good idea for GTP to start a calendar for the GT5P section with the events listed on the actual day of the calendar itself. Listing what event it is on that day and what time, ect. Now I think this also may be a decent idea with other games as well. If there are enough events for other games that is. I don't know though, it's just a thought. Tell me what you think about this idea. Vote and post your response to this idea please, and if it could be helpful to you as well.

It would be cool if GTPer's came up with our own Calendar, for normal use. But I think it would be helpful.

Would this not just mean Jorden turning it on? I'm like, 80% sure its included. If not, it may be a hefty price upgrade. due to VB being super expenisve. I think it would be great to have one. But we'd probabally have to hire one or two more staff members (or add to existing ones) Which will watch over the calander, to moderate calander events being added by members. or only have members with certain aspects being able to add them, such as Mod's, Admin's...

Could be helpful, having said that,...
When I go to the 'Race Events' subforum, most event threads headers' have the pertinent information in them. That's more than good enough for me.
The calendar may be more helpful to keep the various Daily Cups and Championships in front-of-mind for would-be participants.
It may also help keep pal/ntsc content a bit more separated.

The intention is good, but I don't think a calendar would work very well.

A calendar would have to be constantly updated to keep up with events posted in the forum. Who would update it? If it weren't updated frequently enough, you'd have to check the forum anyway. How would you tell if the calendar was up to date or not (you'd probably have to check the forum anyway to be sure).

Timezones would be an issue, because event start/end times often fall on different days depending on where you live (i.e. Australia / New Zealand are often a day ahead, I belive). So the calendar would be wrong for some people, leading to confusion.

Also, I'd rather see PAL and NTSC kept together. I play both and would hate to have to look at two different calendars, plus the forums :)

Personally I think it would be very useful to use a calendar with the same/similar functions as a facebook event calendar, showing the event expected starting times, racers who are willing to attend, race starting cycles, etc.
If it is hard to manage, then I think it would be an excellent idea to use was much more the gtplanet.net facebook group (I dont know how many of you guys has an account there)...
Regarding the time zone, I think is not an issue, as many (if not all) events are based on GMT 0000 time so...
Just in case here is the link

Kind regards

A community calendar has been provided by our forum software for many years, but never attracted much attention or use even when it was linked prominently in the site's header.

Well Jordan, I am sure you know much more than us, but don´t you think maybe now there is more interest on events, now that online gaming is possible?
I am just wondering, you are who knows the trends in the past so...

By the way, thanks, really efficient service
