General Information and Regulations

All rules, regulations, car specifications, and races are controlled by GTPLMS sanctioning body, GTMSA. Any and all questions should be directed to GTMSA officials (namely me ABud) and officials will do their best to answer in a timely and accurate manor.

All drivers must run at the specified weights and horsepower settings provided by GTMSA for each round. Horsepower and/or weight settings are adjusted for competitive reasons each round based on finishing positions from previous rounds.

  • Standard Online Racing Rules Apply.
  • No Cheating, hybrids, etc. You must run the car specifications I give you
  • Try keeping at least 2 wheels on course. Long races = small mishaps, but absolutely NO shortcuts
  • No wall-riding as well. Combined with penalties, this will slow you down considerably, so don't do it.
  • All decisions by GTMSA officials are final

  • Single hot lap in time trial (arcade) mode
  • Weight penalty in effect

I'd like a clarification on what a clean lap is. No wall contacts is obvious, but what do you consider "on course"? Are rumble strips part of the track, as they are in the standard OLR rules, which allows you to put two wheels on rumble strips and two on grass? Finally, at Grand Valley, are the concrete areas part of the track? That includes both the light gray slabs and the darker gray strips.

I have pretty good times in both cars, assuming standard OLR rules with concrete not being part of the track. I'll be interested to see how qualifying turns out, because if I'm not in first by a big margin, the huge inconsistency I now am noticing I have will keep me from doing well in the races. :scared:

My Lap time is in. I had a rubbish set of runs, but that was the best I could get from my car. Hope to become a contender by mid-season.

I'd like a clarification on what a clean lap is...
The rumble strips are counted as part of the track so 2 wheels on them is ok. However, the concrete areas are NOT part of the track so for the purposes of qualifying you cant use them for a better line. Come the race you should try to avoid these as well, occassionaly slipping on to them is ok, but deliberately using them is not.

The hotlaps will be interesting to see, dont forget that some cars will be slower by up to a second just because their tire wear is so good. Then it's all about consistency come race day...

If people want to post up split times for the first 2 sectors feel free, but please dont put up whole lap times.

C60
t1: 31.240
t2: 1:00.828

gts-r
t1: 33.497
t2: 1:04.823

GTS
t1- 33.636
t2- 1:05.457

I feel like I may be able to squeeze a little more out of my final time but we'll see. I'm interested to see what the other Zondas are putting up.

Audi R8
T1: 29.894
T2: 58.814

Judd C60
T1: 30.201
T2: 59.239

The Judd has way more understeer than the Audi which is causing me hell in a few corners. Having said that, its closer to the Audi's lap than i'd expected - should be close over the race distance.

GT-ONE
T1: 29.278
T2: 57.644

GT LM Spec II
T1: 32.306
T2: 1'02.854

The soft tires really bring the worst out of the GT. I won't be able to improve all that much on either lap, although of course there's some time left if I spend a while longer.

O_O If you can improve on those sector times, then i'm in for a lnog season...I can't even crack the "T1 in under 30.xxx" barrier!

Well, I can improve them, but not significantly. And as I've mentioned before, I'm not going to be very good at the races themselves. The kind of racing I've adapted to is hotlapping, which of course involves going more or less flat out and really pushing the car all the time. As a result, I frequently get a bit sideways and overcorrect and spin, or run wide off the track, or simply not turn in consistent lap times. I guess we'll see how I can compare to all of you endurance aficionados when the preseason race gets started, but I assure you that you'll be much closer to me then. And that's not to mention the huge 5% weight penalty I'd be saddled with if I won! That really slows you down.

And as I've mentioned before, my driving style devours tires. I'm probably going to have to run a harder grade than any of you to keep the fronts intact for long enough.

My apologies if this has been asked, but the direction is normal, not reverse, right?

Thanks 👍

My quickest splits so far.

T1/29.668
T2/57.984

Dont know if I can go much faster, but theres a little time left to get.

Yep, normal direction.

What the heck!!!!! I'm glad someone asked...:D
I been breaking my thumb on reverse mode...:dopey:
For some reason I swore reverse, must have gotten confused with the Catherham Cup!!! Reverse East last week...DOH!

Ive improved the Audi's splits but im still losing loads of time in T2:crazy:

T1: 29.685
T2: 58.284

I think this is my last run after running several times reverse :dunce:

33.070
1'04.236

Good luck all...

I've updated the HP & Kg settings of the Chevrolet Camaro for the race. Sorry about that, it was a bit slow!

Now that east beat me in qualifying (great lap 👍), I know I have no chance at all in the race. I'll just have to hope the 5% weight penalty slows him down enough next race! :trouble:

:nervous::scared:east is easily one of the fiercest competitors on all of GTPlanet. Take it from me: 5% weight penalties DON'T SLOW HIM DOWN:crazy:!

I'm pretty surprised at my qualifying pace though. I STILL don't know which car i'll stick with for the whole season in LMP, but i'm happy with my GTS performance. Besides, i'm more of a "Mr. Consistent" than a "One-Lap Wonder"!:sly:

Im hoping thats how im going to be too or im stuffed! I cant get within 2.5 secs of Easts time with that Courage, great lap:tup:

Dont forget people that the results of this round dont count towards the first round of the season proper.

Great times guys...
I hope the Ford is good on tires, as I only tested the rest on strong tire wear and not the Ford!!!! :scared:

Decided to skip the Pagani and the Camaro as for my style of driving it chewed up their tires...

The Ford actually has crappy tire wear, unfortunately. I can't even quite make it four good laps on medium tires - they start to lose a lot of grip midway through lap four. :scared:

I could tell you which cars have good tire wear, but that would be boring:dopey:

That sounds about right on the other cars...4-5 laps...
I guess it should be interesting :)
