PSN Portable IDs in signatures.

Hi Jordan
I was wondering whether you could let us add Portable Ids to our signature so we can easily let people know how we are doing in trophies.

The policy signatures is:

No images
No more than the equivalent of six lines of normal text (including blank lines)


Now, call me a weirdo, but this:

Not only doesn't fit either part but having to scroll past that just because I've made another one of my 26,000 posts - and every time at that - doesn't fill me with positive feelings.

Never mind that, but having to scroll past everyone's portable ID? Every post?

I can see merit in having it somewhere in your profile, but signature?
 
I'm just miffed that SingStar is showing up in my profile because I updated it the other day for trophies for the other members of this household.

As far as I can tell, it’s impossible to put any images larger than an avatar into any part of your profile (except in visitor messages, but that’s not really the point of that profile section).
 
I was more referring to an additional part of profiles...
 
Well Famine, you make a good point but, if it's a nuisance to you to see those in everyone's signature, just ignore them then, or maybe there should be an option to turn them off if you don't want to see them. Besides, everyone wouldn't have it, considering that not everyone on GTP has a PSN id, much less a signature.

Two points:
1) It is a nuisance because he does have to scroll past (ignore) them.
2) If Jordan determines it a nuisance, for whatever reason, then it is his call.

Also, I think it is important to note that only the SCEE site has them available at the moment. It can create confusion when every non-European English-speaking member has a British flag.

So, even if Jordan did like it, it is premature at the moment.

We really do not want to have images or large signatures of any kind because they are quite distracting and waste a large amount of screen space. Images and HTML tags have been disabled for a reason, and we even have guidelines in place to keep signatures small and tidy.

If you visit forums that do not have signature guidelines or that allow images, you will see that a huge amount of space lost to repeating the same information many many times. We really do not think that is worthwhile here at GTP, and we prefer the cleaner look.
 
I'm sorry - despite the obvious relevance of the portable ID's, I do not want any images in signatures.
