Following on from the "A great pair of tits thread"... here's some pics I promised to post on here, so I will start a thread with fairly regular posts, this is honestly all my own work. Please give me some criticism/feedback. I know I am not perhaps the best photgrapher in the world (that much I know) and there are clearly many excellent photographers who might be able to offer valuable advice to perhaps improve or correct the pics I am posting.

I will try to give some background to each pic (if I can remember) as to the shooting conditions and also the location.

My favorite photographers at the moment are Ami Vitale and Yann Arthus-Bertrand both of who's work I absolutely admire. Please take a look at their work if you are not familiar (but please have a look at mine first!).

Anyway on with the show..............

Taken in Cyprus at a place called Troodos, I originally shot this Using a Pentax Optio 550 camera in full colour, but later coverted this to a black and white as I thought it would give a more striking image.

A very frosty autumn day I noticed ice crystals had formed, using a compact digital in macro mode took this picture of a plant stalk.

Blue summer sky with jet plane trail, just enhanced the intensity of this shot to give a more vivid blue. Compact digital.

On a trip to Pakistan a few years back, managed to catch the Pakistan/India Wagah Border ceremony. This very surreal ceremony each Morning & evening makes the London changing of the guard look, well....... boring. Taken with a trusty compact digital.

An action shot taken with my mobile phone camera of the Birmingham leg of the Tour Of Britain.

First and second pictures are truely awesome 👍
Good move making the trees pic into black and white, makes it look fairly sinister

I like the first one; there's a grove nearby and I'll have to try a similar shot myself.

The photo of the ceremony has an interesting scene, though that arm is a little distracting (though you may have intentionally included it :p)

Many thanks for the comments. Yes the arm in the ceremony is distracting, I have other better shots of this which I will select and probably replace this one with. I loved the black and white work in your gallery selection by the way, very atmospheric.
I am currently preparing another selection of photographs for posting. So watch this space soon.

I have replaced the Wagah border ceremony picture above with a slightly nicer more dramatic one. In addition have added a few more (click on the pics to see the large full resolution versions).

This is the Minar-e-Pakistan (literally Tower of Pakistan) In the City of Lahore, and open to the public to climb via the internal staircase. The tower is situated in Iqbal park and constructed of mainly re-enforced concrete stainless steel and marble.
The shot was taken crouching down directly in front of the structure looking upwards. The base is about 4 metres up from the ground with the overall height of the tower being about 60 meters high.

These represent ancient ruins situated in Paphos Cyprus, they are called the Tomb of kings, and were the burial chambers of various rulers dating back to 4th Century B.C.
I originally shot this in color with stones being a sandstone colour, I thought this would look better converted to a grey scale shot instead.

The next is a beautiful shot of an adult robin which had a nest of chicks in the back garden, I tried to get a close to him/her expecting it to fly off, but instead managed to get this really lovely shot.

Nice start to the gallery. 👍 I'd crop the bird shot more, the leaves are a little distracting, especially the big one on the right, as the flash hit it, it draws your attention to it.
