Yes, it's time for a little friendly competition. We have had one thread about this before and though some really good entries were made, a poll/competition was never really initiated(as far as I know?); this time though, ***I*** ;) will make sure we do it the correct way.

Here's the old thread if you want to get some inspiration or just see some of the cool vids again https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=117444&highlight=competition

Same rules, except for no.6:
1. You are allowed only 1 Final Entry
2. You can change your final entry as much as you want before the deadline
3. You can post as many videos as you want before the deadline
4. Upload using youtube and show the videos here using the youtube brackets
5. Mark the video you want to enter into the final poll as FINAL ENTRY
6. The Final Entry can NOT be one that was posted in the old thread
7. It is allowed to take an old movie, edit it and then make a Final Enry of it again

I haven't found a deadline yet, been thinking about a end of feburary date; but that is open for negotiation :)

Keep them coming!

What if I change my old trailer up a bit and by change I mean actually change not just switch one clip? (which I was planning on doing) I may not have the time to make a whole new trailer but we shall see.

Oh and if I do make a new trailer... expect awesomeness... :sly:

good you mention that, rule 7. It is allowed to take an old movie, edit it and then make a Final Enry of it again.

maybe I should also mention to those who haven't made videos before, windows movie maker is a free and really simple program to use and inluded in windows(except for windows 7 I think) and it is not that difficult to make videos as some may think, so make a try and see what happens :)

Where do I get MP4's from though? To download them I would have to be a member of GameTrailers.com or Gamersyde. Anywhere I can get QuickTime version of the vids?

Can we add a rule saying: no copying others ideas by using the same song or scene order?

Then do you not think you should contact Earth to see what his plans were for the original thread instead of stealing it? 💡

You meen Dan Greenwalt is trying to look like a soldier that does dog impressions? I think your on to something.

Last time I checked his PM box was full... but yeah we kinda should...

I agree except I think the same song can be used by more than one person as long as the ordering and the flow of the clips are different.

you can get them from youtube in both regular and HD by using a program, try google them, I'm not sure on AUP...

I'm not sure we can implement the latter (scene order) simply because it will be a gigantic task to check. Of course people shouldn't use the same song, but I don't know if should be an actual rule, since plagiarising is never cool. though if a few others also wants to see it as a rule, we'll do it.

Done now, hadn't thought about it. however since 3-4 new trailers have been realesed since the deadline; if we decide to open the old thread up again the deadline should be pushed. :)

Another question, I have a mac, so what do other mac users use to make videos like these? I've tried quicktime pro 7, which was the most complicated thing in the world, and iDVD and iMovie aren't what I'm looking for either.

I do have a PC with windows movie maker. It works perfectly, except that my movies (anything I add to one of the movie boxes on the bottom of the screen) won't play smoothly and tend to choke on them selfs every few seconds. Is this because I need a better graphics card??? Because I am more than willing to spend money on a new graphics card than try to fiddle around with the mac again.

I know it's been a while, but I thought I might as well resurrect this thread. So here's my GT5 Trailer.

Wow some fantastic work there Sam ,may I ask as well what is the name of the song in the first video.

Grounds for Divorce, by Elbow. Yes, it's on itunes.

@Leaffoot53- Funny you mention that, because that's where I first heard the song.

Thanks Sam.👍

keep the videos coming guys ,always nice too see new stuff:tup:

Here is one I made with footage from the two concept trailers and the GTPSP intro:

Tune is Voodoo People Remix by The Prodigy/Pendulum.

nice but i think neptunes one was a little better and i think the sequence of clips should be altered

I am making a new trailer. And yes, it will be epic.
Such arrogance has already put me off watching your trailer!

My favourite so far on this thread is definitely Emu76 video. I love prodigy and their music fits in perfectly with GT5.

Just curious but what are people using to make these trailers. If I download any videos from Gametrailers for example then I cannot seem to use these with windows movie maker. I always seem to get an error message when saving. Can anyone recommend any free movie making software apart from WMM?

It's not mine but I post it anyway.
I think that's not the original video, it's just a re-upload. I'll search for the original.
