After running 10 laps or so I have decided to not use the penalty system. TT's system is much more sensitive than the one used in GT4. And on this track it is possible to adhere to the “one wheel on the track at all times” rule and activate the system. Which I did more times than I care to count. I want us to be able to push it to the limit but also to make it fun. Getting 90% of the way only to have the whole run ruined just because one tire was 2 inches off the track didn't seem fair.

We all know each other pretty well here. And a few minor offs don't bother me. Especially because I have replay now for my runs. I'm going to add 5 secs for each minor off that I have. Feel free to do the same. As always, spills are “Verboten”.

I think I should have gone with another bike. I feel like one of the drunken AI's from Autumn Ring. Must be the speeds we're traveling at. I had a much better time on this bike over at RRP's site. Time to think.

Enjoy that and then come back and finish up mthielen's double dose of the "Ring".

A tough cookie indeed.
My advice is to go really slow through the really bumpy bits so you stay on.
( I can give you a guide to the bumpy bits if you like ! ).

To go fast you must go slow sometimes, and to finish first, first you must finish.

Making fun at my expense.

edit: : Took your advice today and dropped 8 sec off my lap. 👍

Gonna be over at RPP's site tomorrow. But found this at Viperin's PhotoBucket site. Not bikes, but I like. :) http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c53/RingDiary/bbNike2.jpg

Nice find, I had forgotten about those shots.
That is one strange Car (?) the noise it makes, as if a flock of birds is following you is particularly bizarre.

Well, I have completed my assignment and submitted my times to our fearless leader.

T3 : 1 ' 51 . 915
T5 : 3 ' 24 . 412
T8 : 5 ' 31 . 624

Not very startling but I managed to very cautiously wobble my way round and complete a perfectly valid lap ( no red numbers, yippee ! ).
I started off by setting Pro mode and did reasonably well ( best effort only 2 offs and 1 falling down ). I was however much quicker on standard mode / lean out, top speed set @ 213 mph.

I was concentrating so hard I gave myself a headache

Good luck all !

T3: 1'48.227
T5: 3'17.416
T8: 5'18.242
Lap: Submitted

Didn't really pay attention to my T's. But I know I'm nowhere near these. Had a very good run except for the 3 minor offs so my time will reflect the 3- 5 sec. additions.

glad thats over :nervous:

time submitted 👍

my t's were

3 - 1:49.443
5 - 3:21.043
8 - 5:23.757

soft tyres, top speed slider @223mph

G'Day all.

For PAL users here is my replay file link - http://www.ttbikesim.com/community/single.php/651

I also forgot to mention I used RS tyres (natch) and possibly a higher top speed slider setting as well.
The 'Ring is of course a very testing track and on a Bike, is very unforgiving :nervous:
I was not super fast but I gained a great deal of satisfaction from finishing the lap out, my time now the fastest in my rankings :)

Looking forward to the Fuji Race, I know a lot of people do not like the track but I am quite fond of it.

Good luck all 👍

This was an extremely tough but fun event. When I get some time I might jump on the F4-1000S in TT mode to see what diifference some fine tuning could make. Any tuning tips would be appreciated. Seeing that I'm not the roundest wheel on the track. :dunce:

hi t :) for tuning at Nurburgring on the MV, i'd advise...

medium preload, say 5 front 6 rear to give the suspension room to work

spring rates at 6/6, dampers quite stiff at 6 for bound and 7 for rebound to try to keep the wheels
in contact with the road over all the bumps and ups and downs

brake balance at 6/6 for stability, top speed set to about 225mph to keep from hitting the limiter on
the back straight and of course, soft tyres

hope that'll be a good starting point for you 👍
