Sadly people i have to announce that GT5 will not feature 1000 cars in car cabins, its true that 200 will be exquisite detailed but sadly as the jp web page shows "* standard cars will not have in cockpit view"

How many threads does this topic need!!!!!

Oh about 800.

Not only no cockpits, they also look like HD GT4/PSP cars with some extra details here and there, so it's actually like that GTHD Classic/Premium they showed in 2006.

I feel like I should be upset. BUT HEY.... I never use cockpit view, I just don't care. Im just happy we have bodyshops confirmed and night/day tranistions.... cockpit view for me was the same as damage... both things I just couldn't care less about. NOW in terms for the people who are gutted, atleast there are 200 very interesting cars with cockpit? Now that I think about it, it makes sense that they couldn't get every cockpit done... I mean seriously, considering the amount of random old cars there are etc

Oh, boo hoo.

You know, Polyphony could render each and every interior to the same level of deail ... but Kazunori Yamauchi said that it's just not possible. They found the limits of the PS3 in creating those interiors, and to apply them to all one thousand cars in the game would mean it would be a few more years in development.

Be thankful you're getting those two hundred.

Forza has over 400 from all ages of cars. PD should atleast have managed to equael that.
We even bother doing the premium. It's like saying look at what we could have done.

Wow the dream is dead.
You think the time spent in development, they could have match Forza 3's 2yrs of work to come up with 400 cars. Or atleast out sourced the car modeling work to the many companies that could have done the work for them.

Sorry guys but where does it confirm no cockpit for standard view I read through the 8 pages.

Can we please not jump to any conclusion just yet ? I mean here is my rationale:

1. KY is very secretive and always has an element of surprise kept for last minute.

2. It is not mentioned that the standard cars will not have interior view ! it is mentioned and I quote "From the seductive curves of exotic sports cars, to the inviting sight of the road ahead when you slide into the driver’s seat and peer past the glass, down to the intricately detailed instrument panel and dashboard... Every one of the over 200 premium cars recreate every last detail of the car, inside and out." (http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/news/d5247.html) - So what this means is that the interior for the premium level cars are just much more detailed than standards ones ! I mean if we get the level of interior as we get in NFS Shift or GRID which is basic compared to the Premium cars , it is good enough.

3. If the site wanted to mention that there is no interior view, it would have been clearly stated as it it with the case of High and Low beam headlight option.

Here it is:

"Gran Turismo 5, cars have fully-functioning headlights. Premium cars even feature both low and high beams for a variety of racing conditions.
Premium cars: Headlights with high beams and low beams
Standard cars: Standard lights only" (same source as above)

So I do not think we should be jumping ahead of time and drawing unnecessary conclusions just yet.

Again, please read the info carefully:

"The quality of the premium level cars is of course the intricate modeling of every tiny detail of not only the exterior, but the interior as well. No other game offers this level of ultra-high detail." (Same source)

Wow, pithy over-reaction.

I don't know if you've noticed, but they have 1000.

Or atleast out sourced the car modeling work to the many companies that could have done the work for them.
It would never have happened. Kaz is a notorious perfectionist, and to outsource car modelling work would have removed his control over the quality. Not a compromise he would have been willing to make. The decision to limi the number of interior views to 200 cars was no doubt one he made reluctantly and only because it was practical.
