I have been trying to get golds in all these to unlock the ring with weather however I have gold in the first 4 but cant get gold in the last one which is obv the complete lap I find cars get in my way at the worst times ie when braking into a corner they will just turn into my line.

My best time is 7.19 anyone got any advice?

Usually smash round the ring alot online and have been but cant do this boody challenge.

This challenge is very hard. I think i'm really good at the Nordschleife but this is really hard for me. Best time so far was a 7:05:230 :/

Those AI cars are so annoying, I swear one of them was blocking me on purpose, kept swirving when I tryed to pass. I soon raged and quit. Managed silver though, so not terrible.

I actually had to aim for the grass sometimes to get away from those cars, lost less time on that than trying to pass them normally.

It took me about 7 hours to get gold in the time 7.04,4xx. I had to cheat twice where it actually pays off to cut through the grass. It also took an hour or so to get the cheating to work properly..

It's a very tough challenge, but it can be done with a lot of patience :)

Got gold on the first attemp, I've also done some mistakes, crushing into that stupid IA SL, done with 7:02:xxx. The key here is to know every turn of the Ring, I've played this track over and over in GT4 so it was pretty simple. If you can't afford that, go to practice mode with a car similar to the SLS and try to memorize the track, it helps a lot!

It has been asked before:

Learning Nurburgring Nordschleife - Answer
Any tips for getting golds in the AMG driving school?
Best way to unlock nurburgring?
How to Unlock Nordschleife for practice mode? What are stealth cars?
Is there any other way to unlock all of the Nurb...
need help with amg int test 1 lap gold trophy

General remarks are, that experienced drivers find it simple, the SLS AMG is a very fast car.

That said (I'm not an experienced driver) some of the oldies recommended you concentrate on the 4 bits, and make certain you get gold easy on those. Once you mastered the parts, putting it together becomes a lot easier.

I can not do this, but Ezza75 put this up a 7:00:533 lap:

I'm finding it pretty impossible. I'm in the 7.07-09 ballpark at the moment.

Then again I never thought I'd be able to gold the other 4 in the intermediate section and I eventually did.

My biggest issue is braking in areas where I could just lift off and power through. The problem is that the car is such a weighty understeery monster on the exit of corners that finding the limit is very hard.

And I'm using a controller, which doesn't help.

And I'm using a controller, which doesn't help.

Yeah, in GT4 I just had a controller, but GT4 physics was a lot easier to control with a pad than the physics in GT5... I've done that 7:02:xxx with the wheel, that it's a lot more precise than the pad, especially on the Ring

got 6:50 but with G25.

maybe you should cut in the first sector, because of the AI Cars, they are pretty stupid and take you 10-20 seconds....

I noticed that the AI cars leave a reasonably generous amount of room around the entry to and exit from corners. You can usually overtake them around the outside, which is obviously much faster than having to go inside. If you're unfortunate enough to come across one at the apex, just lean into them since there are no penalties for contact. As your times get more consistent you'll get used to passing the cars in the same places, which makes overtaking them a lot easier.

I've still not quite cracked it - best time is 7:07.544 - but it's just a question of hooking a whole lap together. Wouldn't be surprised if when I finally get gold it's not far off 7:00 dead.

Also, I'm using a G25 most of the time but had a go with the controller last night. I found that you *have* to lift off the throttle on entry to corners in order to unsettle the back end and get it to turn in. Quite a contrast in technique to using the wheel, but I surprised myself by getting a 7:09, so reckon gold is possible with that too.

After so much tries, that i wanted to throw my wheel out of the window, i stayed with silver.

But i unlocked 2 versions of the NS: standard + wheater changeable. (thats what is in arcade mode timetrail displayed)

Will watch again when i´m finished working.

I also managed to get it first try...for me the key was reading the instructions, they note that you should pass slow cars on the left (actually works like that at the real track as well)...I dont know if its just in my mind or if it works, but if I high beam them just before passing, it seems they stick well to the right...only AI that bugged me was the A160 :)

I got gold by cutting some corners :P After Hatzenbach (in the beginning) I cutted some of the corners.

This was a tricky one for sure, much harder than beginner full lap or advanced full lap in the wet.

The key here is to maximize the straights - sometimes this means getting a little lucky and not passing a car when coming out of a corner onto a long fast section. You can lose 5-10mph coming out of a corner if you are trying to pass someone, and that can lead to 2-4 seconds depending on the section. Even by yourself, this matters a lot. If you get 1 corner "right" it should be the the one before the 2km straight. Losing just 2km entering the long straight can mean 0.5s slower on the entire lap.

This probably took me about 8 tries, including 4 laps in the 7:05.X before putting down a 7:04-flat. I had been playing all day (finishing off licenses) so I was pretty strung out and was making stupid mistakes. I am convinced a 6:59 exists out there without cheating.

Also, note about passing - although the cars are supposed to pull to the right, in the SLS you come up too quickly so they can't see you. There are cases where passing on the right instead of the left might be faster.

If you are struggling, go back to the first 4 tests where they break out the course. You should be able to get gold by a full second on each of those tests. The full lap isn't quite the same pace, but there isn't a very large margin of error. This test is much easier than the GT4 'ring challenge in the SLR.

This one is actually very easy. If you are having trouble, do one dry run and learn about where you are going to have to pass each car. Then do a hot lap. I got 7:01.345 without much fuss. I was actually slow in some areas because I oversteered on the the track edge. It is very doable. The tuned SLS is very fast and has a ton of grip. You do not have to pass on the inside. The car can handle the outside route. It is better to brake a little bit for a car than to ram into it and then accelerate again.

here ;D

@topic
just get every day some laps, more experience pushs you pretty hard.

i got some friends, which are driving VLN, with Renault Clio Cup and MINI Alpercin.
They are slow on other tracks in GT5 but NS ... they are hard to beat :D

my first drive was arround 7:37 :D, my second already 7:22. i'll train hard with the hope to reach 7:05 :).

Here are some reference points I have noted in the video and my own personal times...

1) The first check point approaching Quiddelbacher should be less than 0'47 seconds. 46 seconds is prime.

2) Right under the Yokohama bridge, you should be at 1'20''.

3) You should pass the white C63 AMG during Adenauer Forst series esses. The next check point shouldn't be more than 1'48'' or so.

4) Go flat out after bergwerk. That check point should be around 3'18 or so, even less.

5) You should be shy of 4'05'' just entering the karusell.

6) From Hole Acht to Pflanzgarten I is the hardest part - I've noted he keeps gears between 4 and 5, something I can improve on from 3-4.

7) By 5'20'' you should be entering and passing Pflanzgarten. From then on it should be full pedal to the floor during Pflanzgarten II.

8) Ease up on throttle before the long but sharper than expected right hand curve leading up to Schwalbenschanz. Slow is fast here.

9) Enter Galgenloph, the final tricky sharp right hander at around 6 minute mark. When you have your line DO NOT BRAKE. Just fly like a bat outta hell reaching the 2km straight Dottinger Hohe.

10) Go flat out and you should be at 6'15'' by the Audi R8 V10 sign.

11) Flat out pass the left kink at Antoniusbuche and slow down at tiergarten.

Hopefully I can use this advance to help my current 7'08'' time when I get home tonight
