Some of you(who lack good taste in music :P) might call me crazy but I find the music(well the menu music anyway, I dont listen to music when driving) completely enjoyable! I heard and read from some reviewers complaining about the 'bad' jazz music? Seriously? How can one classify it as bad jazz music? I find the jazz in GT5 is done very tastefully...heck even some of the funkier stuff they have is good. One song that that the name escapes me, almost sounds like something JDilla would make.

So who else actually takes the time to just not do anything and let a track finish? heh

I for one love the music in GT5. I don't play music while driving but I do like the menu music. I have done what you said, and sometimes I will let the song finish before I play.

The jazz is brilliant.

There's people who don't like it (usually much younger people) and one would assume a bit of gansta rap or something about cutting yourself like Linkin Park would be more to their tastes.

The menu music is awesome! It puts me in the mood for racing. I have never been dissapointed in PD choice of menu music. There are laso so many different lounge music tracks that I rarely hear the same music over and over.

Im with you trk29. Sometimes I just let the music play and relax.

My favourite so far is the music in the Course Maker called 'Dream World'. WOW! Just stunning, I love it. Then again, I love all the music in GT5! :D

I like it, especially the classical selections, although the Viola solo's are a bit pitchy for my taste..

I like 90 percent of the jazz. Some of it is "bad" jazz, the saxophone in the dealership is unbearable, and there are some questionable uses of FM keyboards. Also the used car music loop is way too short and gets old really fast, no matter how much I love slap bass.

They need to allow us to use the awesome bossanova in the sub-menus. But because I can't stand the short music loop, "the entertainer", and the cocky saxophonist (aren't they all, though?) I regrettably have to have the music off and just stream DJ sets off my computer through the speakers.

Totally agree, the menu music is spot on... the ingame music however, not so much (just like GT1, 2, 3, 4 and pretty much every other car game ever)

Jazz music is a great idea. It slows down the pace which is odd for a racing game, but Gran Turismo has never been a heart-in-mouth arcade racer, and the relaxed pace works much better for when you're just browsing menus and checking out the cars.
Plus, it makes the load times seem shorter. They take ages but the slow jazz music is that much more relaxing, that it just doesn't matter.

Not me, think it's all rubbish just like every other game, well maybe apart from GT2 which had some really nice stuff. I even got bored listening to my own music and have turned it all off now, the soundtrack of the cars is my music.

I like the music. But the opening one I prefer the Japanese version, way better video and music. I have no problem with the menu design neither. Not bad at all.

I don't mind the My Chemical Romance song, but it's probably the first time in all 5 main intros that I think "Moon Over The Castle" actually fits better than the European alternative.

I don't mind the jazz but that famous piano composition in GT Auto drives me nuts!
Is it possible to choose your own tracks for the menus? I havent worked out how to turn selected tracks off yet...

There is one song that plays now and then just before you hit the start race button, that goes something like "I dont even know, the way I love you so" or something like that, I love that tune!

I play my own custom music ingame, but I'm gonna play the default music now and see if it's any good, I just set custom music soon as I got the game.

i like the GT-auto, i know the song from somewhere but i don't know where from.

i like the Menu's and the songs are Ok. Much better compared to Prologue music.

The one in GT auto is "The entertainer" by Scott Joplin. You might know it from the film "The sting"

I love jazz in Gran Turismo 5, its so nice to hear the jazz in the all game, when im racing, i listen to my music.

Yeah, I really like the Jazz. I wish there were some way you could know the song that is currently playing, otherwise you have to go to the music menu and sift through to find what you're looking for.

I actually started humming that to me mate at work, cos he forgot what it went like, but I love it! Putting that tune in is comedy genius :)

I've had the race BGM disabled from the start, so I can't say much about those, but GT's BGM has always been ace. With the exception of the ridiculous pre-race song that sounds like it's being sung by children. PD makes some really weird decisions...

I love that tune! I wanna go out one night and that tune be playing at a nightclub lol BEST tune in the game so far.

Nosia + Subfocus is great. Hopefully I can mix some of my own music with it. Needs moar cowbell.

I love the menu music. Gt always had great menu music. It fits the game and menu theme perfectly. People complaining that its not their "type" of music need to realize you dont play a racing game to hear your favorite song. The jazz music fits well with the menu layout. It all works together.

Plus that funk song in the tuning shop is dope!
