Born November 24th 2010
Telephone #: None

To whom it may concern,

I am interested in applying for your vacant driving seat available on your Grand Turismo Series. I am an individual with a wide variety of driving talent's (listed below) & am very good at handling various situations (hot or cold). I hope you will consider my candidature.

Past Experience:

None, although I have a natural talent for racing.

Education:

None. In fairness, however, I'd like to point out that I was born three weeks ago.

Skills:

My racing talents are numerous but I will try to condense them in a short text.
I am a master at protecting the car; if I have an opportunity to pass and there is a competitor within 20 miles I will intelligently let him through to pass him at some other time.
In the event that I feel like winning a race, I can strategically ram from behind another racer effectively removing both of us from said race. When I am able to recover from such a situation I will often duplicate the same event on the last lap once I am near the finish line.
Although I am adept to racing all types of cars I prefer overpowered rear wheel drive cars which allow me to perform doughnuts.
I have impeccable manners; I will always allow the racing pack to pass me before rudely barging in after a small spin (which hardly ever happens).
I am a man of few words however I am guaranteed to induce colourful language on your part.
I am in touch with my emotions and I can empathize with anyone feeling hot or cold.
I like to work independently, only needing the occasional (every 30 seconds) 'Pace up' or 'Over-****ing-take' suggestion.
I like to keep the workplace fun & eventful by inexplicably having a down, up or horizontal arrow floating above my helmet.

In closing, I know this decision will not be difficult as you have no choice to pick me but I'd like to assure you that I will do everything in my power to make your racing a pleasurable experience.

Sincerely,

Mr.Nob

personally I think you are over qualified for the position of B-Spec Bob, come back to us when you can manage to take the same corner perfectly 3 times but on the 4th and final time you need to take it you simply forget its there. Thats the stuff we're looking for.

It's funny because it's true :D

On a related matter, there really is no need whatsoever for Bob to be so catastrophically bad at racing. I'm watching him here on Cape Ring in a Skyline (R33). He has countless opportunities to pass but doesn't take them. It's like he's programmed NOT to pass when the opportunity arises, just to heighten the tension.

He keeps losing control on the same corners, in a 4WD SKYLINE ffs.

It's all so unnecessary.

I found my Bob on the side of the road. He was holding a cardboard sign that read:
Racing driver looking for work.
No experience, No car.

Seemed like a good idea at the time.

What I don't get is how he is worse at oval racing than anything else. I was running 5 seconds a lap quicker on average than the best he could do at Indy, with the same car and tyres.

LOL for some reason I have a feeling that's how all the Bob's get hired!!

Great thread :D

But honestly my Bob isnt as bad as you describe. he wins pretty easy with a good car and he did not spin out since he drove the minolta on level 0 :D

okok, maybe he is. He like to hug every corner in Monaco.

LOL, so true. I gave my guy my McLaren F1 to use in the British Lightweights race. He was having so much fun doing big smoky doughnuts that he forgot all about the race

He's currently unemployed.

I honestly have zero clue what all the complaints about Bob are?

I have a team of 6 bobs.. First 4 are all lvl30+..

Together they have raced 350+ races. So I think I am more than qualified to voice an opinion. I feel that if your Bob is failing, you.. yes you the operator are at fault. None of my Bob's have ever lost a race. Pick the right car, prep it properly and make sure to pay attention to your drivers mood.

My main driver drives like I do, stealing inside corners, trail braking and overall he is quite skilled. On the same courses he tends to keep similar laps times to myself and has even bested me in certain vehicles.

At level 0, sure they are fun to watch with an overpowered car. Keep the driver in a car matching his skill level and he won't be beat. I should know.

Oh sure, if you give him enough power over the other cars he will drive around them no bother, but he's afraid to properly use slipstreaming and overtake at small relative speeds and really commit. Just like the AI does to you in A-Spec; it's so easy to defend against their indecisive nature sometimes.

Haha, so true.

I remember reading the other day that the reason my bob was so awful was that I had not given him the best possible tires for his races. True enough, I upgraded his tires and lo and behold, his 6th place finish was now replaced with an 8th.

*facepalm*

Orthow, This thread was meant as a joke. You must admit that Bob's driving is less than stellar & that there is only so much the commands will do. I am happy for you however that your Bob seems to be modeled after the late Ayrton Senna. Maybe I will get lucky on my next driver.

In the Turbo series I was impressed by my "Bob" he was out accellerated at the start by Legacys etc. It would not have been so bad had he not been driving a 1000HP Speed 12 (which is in my opinion one of the better "normal" cars).

I must say in his defence that he has been been driving very well mostly. He is currently at Class 16 and is my best "Bob".

👍
I agree, I was watching both of my drivers mess up on the cape ring in the Japanese 90's series, particularly the two hairpins before and after the finish line. I went back, tuned the suspension so that it induced oversteer and bam! the senior bob aced that race.

If your bob's having problems, give him a lower powered car or tune the suspension/brakes etc. Works wonders. and telling him to pace down on corners you know he messes up, that helps too.

Yeah, that was tough. I lost twice, upgraded the vitz a little and won by 0.001 seconds. I think thats how i got the one hundredth trophy :)

My guy lost it about 10 times, highest place was 4th I think I was going to put the controller through the tv so I gave up on it, not fun or rewarding so screw it!
