B-spec historic racecar... which car?

One would say this question must have been asked on the forum, but I can't find it.

Which car did you guys use on the B-spec historic race? And more specifically the Monaco race.

I tried in a completely tuned Toyota 7 race car, but for some reason it is too wide.... Bob keeps hitting walls so badly he even introduced premium damage to a standard car. He really loves 11th place I think.
So... I'm looking for some car to beat this. It doesn't have to be easy, but at least possible.
 
You should be able to win it with a Toyota 7 without any problem, i dont know how you bob is not able to do that.

Try some modifications on the car, or try changing the driver, cool/hot/middle...

I have no clue either... I've tried two drivers I think. They hit the wall in the last corner (a lot of the AI does that!) and right after the tunnel (again, Bob's not the only one). So either when Bob hits the wall or when some car in front of him hits it he's back a few places.
I've seen some major crashes happen (4 or 5 in two races).

edit: was AI updated in 1.05?
 
There is already a 5-6 page thread on this, but I did it using a Ferrari 330 p4 tuned, that is the key, have to tune it for Bob, max downforce, gear ratios just perfect for the track... It took me 5 tries to win the first race and 4 for the second but he did it, key is starting out clean and then hoping he overtakes in the final laps. I have heard a fully tuned 7 can easily win though.

It can and should be done with the Toyota 7. No need to get another car.

It's simply a matter of racing until the Chaparral 2J starts on the 3rd row, along about the 8th race. The 2J will get involved in 2 major accidents and not be a factor in the race. I finished 12 seconds ahead of the Jag using this strategy. Be sure to gear your Toyota 7 more for acceleration than top speed.

Haha, this sounds like a setup.

Trust me, in round 4, he'll get involved in two major "accidents" and he won't be a problem anymore... just make sure you're no where near him when it happens. Capice?

Added. i'd rather just get through this with a 2j than try and push through with a p4. I have plenty to choose from, so let's make a trade.
 
I'd like a Chaparral 2J if you'd trade for a Jag XJ-13?

I'm having the same problem with my Toyota 7! Bob keeps on crashing or someone crashes in front of him and blocks the road off! I've managed to get a silver in the event, Bob wouldnt overtake the ferrari at the front, he just went half throttle and followed him over the line! So much for me pressing overtake!!

The reason the bob gets stuck on the chicane or the finish is because you are pacing him and/or asking him to overtake, if it happens once, it will happen EVERY time, this is just 1s and 0s you know, so if he is in the deep read and overtakes a car after the tunnel and hits the chicane, this will happen on EVERY lap he is in the deep red and tries to overtake after the tunnel... play it cool and keep him calm though the chicane areas and push him back in the red in the uphill straight sections. You should have NO problems doing this in a toyota 7 with a lvl 21 driver. same goes for the formula GT Cote d'azure race.

My Bob is level 23 (and a half) driving the Jag XJ-13 and the Toyota 7 Race Car and he still has the same problems. I might tune up my Ford Mark IV and give it a go but I doubt he'll do any better than second. Don't worry if your not winning this race though (whoever may be reading this for help) as it isn't as simple as Marxgorm is claiming it is. It's alright him saying to do that but the AI will still crash in front of you and cock things up for you, and if you are pushing your driver he will crash one lap, and maybe not the next, you can never know if Bob will crash or not! I know that that is the case because I am seeing it happen in front of me! That Monaco race is pure luck as far as I can see! I've done it and finished second, and since then I haven't come close!

tempted to record a run with a sub lvl10 bob to show you how wrong you are.
Bob will NOT crash on the finishing corner if he is below 80% into the red, and he will NOT crash on the post-tunnel chicane if he is not trying to overtake a car.
If the AI crashes, then its a coinflip if it works against you or for you, to my experience the AI chicane crash usually works in your favor, you can even provoke them yourself in A-spec since the AI in this game is so predictable. If you slow down enough to make a car try to overtake you on the left side pre chicane and then speed up, the AI will dive into the wall.
I can win this race 10/10 times in the toyota 7, it all boils down to your bob management, keep him hot on the top side of the track and have him relaxed at the tricky parts. good spots for overtaking is the corner after the startingline and the corner before the top spot on the map.

I found when I did it with my lvl 24 bob in the Toyota 7 (fully modded) that I had to keep harrasing him to increase pace until he had past all cars, took about 3-4 laps normally and as soon as hes ahead of Chaparral 2J he waltzed away with it, just keep his meter just to the right of the line, wins by about 15secs everytime :p
 
I dropped the Toyota 7's top speed to 17X and bob seem to be ok as you only hit about 150ish on the longest straight so you get better acceleration on the short twisty course with less top speed ??. Plus as said above pace up on straights and down on the tight bits. Once in the lead just hold him half way (hot /cool) and maintain pace. It took me a few times to do it though.
 
I set out today to finally beat the Monaco race. It only took 25 or so tries but I got it with the Toyota 7 and a level 23 Bob. As soon as the race started,I just kept pushing the overtake button.Right off the bat he picked up 3 or 4 spots. He got first by the 4th lap and never looked back. I tried every different type of command and this was the only way I could get the dumb--- to win.
 
Wayyy! Bob did it! I tried him again today on an off chance and he won it lol!

For the record of the he wont hit anything under 80% don't be silly person on the previous posts, my Bob was at 60% and he hit the wall so shush!

Weird setup for my Toyota 7 Race Car but it worked on B-Spec and 2 more times right after to make sure. But it works well. after bb takes first you need to let him cool down and keep him near the middle of the stress bar. Should be gravy! Goodluck

Downforce: F:60 R:85
Turbo: Mid RPM Range Turbo Kit (Stage 2)
LSD: IT=30 , AS= 55 , BS=30
Transmission: 224mph top speed
Suspension:
Ride height= -30/-30
Spring Rate= 20/20
Dampers ext and comp both= 10/10/
Anti Roll Bars= 7/7
Camber: F= 7.0, R= 0.0
Toe: F= -0.10 / R= 0.15
Brakes: F=9 / R=8

I used this setup, level 21 Bob and cruised into 1st place quite easily. Just decrease pace entering the tunnel and avoid overtaking on the corner just before the finish line and you should win no problem.
