I have got a question regarding the new possibility to back up your savegame.
I know this is probably an incredibly noobish question, but how do you recover your backed up savegame?
when i tried to copy mine, i could only copy it to my USB flashdrive.

anyone who can help me?

This show I did it-

exit GT5
go to saved game folder
press triangle
Option to copy, delete, information
insert usb
press copy
remove usb when copy completed

For some reason, if I put in a memory stick before I open the saved game folder, the folder options do not appear.

To replace the file, just repeat the above.

If you are unsure, create a dummy user and try copy process with it, rather than risk your main game file

That is how to make the backup. The restore is different.
You need to go to the saved game folder
I then delete the existing GT5 save (don't know if it would overwrite)
Then go to the USB icon
Press triangle
Select copy
And that will copy it back to the saved games folder where you can use it.

Does this mean that people will be able to start posting their game saves? Like they did with prologue, you could download a 100%'ed save and drive all the best cars.

No fortunately not. You can only use them on a ps3 with the same psn id that they were created on.

Right...until the hacked saves come out where they are pre-patched to work with your PSN ID. A mate of mine is working on such an exploit right now.

Thanks, BKViper,

I was writing from memory - you are correct.

Cheers

Did any one have a problem with the game after doing this ?
because my brother did it yesterday but today XMB cannot read the GT cd.
please advise.

When i trie to copy may save to make a backup, the ps3 says that it is not allowed.
But i cac copy other saved games i have, but not gt5. Whay???

I am a noobie at backing up data. I have put my GT5 save on a SD memory card at the moment. I assume this is ok and I will be able to use it if I have problems with my current PS3. Can anyone confirm this??

I backed up mine to a USB stick, deleted my PS3's GT5 gamesave (very nervously I might add), copied over the backup from the USB stick and got back into the game just fine. So yes, it does work.

I can't copy from the USB back to the main account: under USB, the menu option reads "information". But if I select USB first, the "copy" option saves it back to the USB only, with no option to save it for the main account.

I haven't deleted the main account save data yet because I wanted to make sure I could restore first.

Can anyone figure out what I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Trye to make a new user on your ps3, and put the save game on the new user.

Do i need an upgraded version to copy a backup save?
