Time Trial Qualifying
Rules

• Run in Practice Mode! (Clutch prohibited for G25/G27 users)
• Use soft Racing Tires, keep the car stock!
• 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
• Rumble/Ripple strips are part of the track
• The green painted concrete next to the rumbles is not part of the track
• Runoff areas are not part of the track
• No contact with walls or object, visible or invisibile
• If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
• Otherwise, if confirmed dirty, a 5 second penalty will be imposed on your lap
• You can only submit/post your lap once, make it count!
• Feel free to discuss your lap times in the thread

How to Save, Copy, and Post your Replay

1. After your free run in Practice Mode, Select "Save Ghost Replay"
2. Exit and go to Replay Theater Mode
3. Select Ghost Replay (Best Lap Replay) and Press Triangle
4. Select "Export to Save Data"
5. Exit Game and Plug in a remote storage (Flash/Thumb Drive)
6. Select Save Data utility and Copy the Replay File to your Flash/Thumb Drive
7. Copy Replay from Flash/Thumb Drive to your PC
8. Select Replay File, Right click, and Compress to a folder (You need winRar for this, its a free DL)
9. Go to "WSGTC" Thread and post a reply with your replay file attached
10. Drink your coffee and look out your window. Bask in your own Glory!
11. Wait for someone to confirm that its clean and valid
12. Alternative - Upload a video of your lap on YouTube and post it here! (Use chase Cam!)

Setting Grid Positions on Race Day

• Do not move when race countdown reaches zero!
• Remember your Grid Spot! Remember the names of the person infront and behind you beforehand!
• Pole sitter will make his way to the front.
• Pole sitter will go ahead and lead the field maintaining a slow pace
• One by one, fall in line on your predetermined grid spots.
• Pole sitter will lead the whole field the whole lap at 35-55PMH
• Field will approach grid markings before making a full lap
• Pole sitter will take his spot - P1 INSIDE LANE
• Next fastest qualifier - P2 OUTSIDE LANE
• Everyone will take their positions one by one, Hold your Positions!
• Look at the clock at the Top Right Corner of the Screen saying "Total Time"
• Green Flag will be at 5:00'00 exactly! (May depend on track)
• Again, when clock hits 5:00'00 its go time! Green flag! Everyman for himself!

Hey I think I've got a good system we can use. It involves making a check and balance system.

There's two models. Pretty much the system involves giving or taking away a certain amount of "infraction points" or "IPs"

So, first model, you do something stupid on track. The stewards judge the infractor by watching the replays and give him an IP point. Say, just for an example, we set it so that if you get something like 6 points at any point in the season you either lose championship points, get disqualified for a race, whatever seems to work best. Getting 12 points will be bad enough for disqualification or something major. Everyone starts with zero.

Second model is something more in line with the idea of checks and balances.

So everyone starts out with like 10 points, for example. If you do something bad, you gain points, but if you have a whole race without hitting anyone or having any major contact with other racers you take points off. Have ten good races without much incident and you will have the best possible reputation, which is zero.
If you get too many points, maybe 20? You get penalized. Maybe something like at 15 points you get a slap on the wrist penalty (time penalty or a delayed start or something) and 20 points will disqualify you from the next race.

This system would be a deterrent to try and keep guys serious about staying well in the league.

Hi Masi,

Can you give us a brief guide how to do this for us with more average PS3 skills.

We are supposed to do our qual lap in practice mode. When I have a qual lap I'm happy with, do a save it as "save replay" or "save fastest lap as ghost"?

With the qual lap saved on the PS3, how do I get it to you as a PM in this forum from my computer?

I probably just missed something but I might not only be me who doesn't know how to do this.

Btw, I saw in the latest GT5 update we can now set the time the race finish. Before it was 20 sec after the winner, but now it can be extended. Great improvement, so now the GT300 cars can race to the finsh line.

But the laptime, do you want the replay file so you can watch it on your PS3 or do you want a recorded video?

Replay File:

step 1: Save the replay/ghost replay

step 2: Go to replay teather in GT-Mode

step 3: Choose your qual replay and choose the option export replay file (or was it data file)

step 4: Exit GT5

step 5: Go to your saved data folder and copy the saved replay to memorystick for example

step 6: Put the memory stick in your PC and find the replay folder

step 7: copy the replay folder to PC

step 8: Now click on the folder with right mouse button and choose compress folder (I think it's called that, I have a Finnish Windows so..) anyway, RAR the folder

step 9: Send the compressed replay folder to Masi

DONE!

Ok sorry guys... Ill have a step by step instruction about the qualy/replay thing in a few minutes.

Although he forgot something. Its the ghost replay you must save and copy, not just the replay. This way you only get the fastest lap, not the whole practice session itself.

Next Preseason race is Cote d' Azur (Monaco), so you need a quali lap from, well... Cote d' Azur
