Today I completed the Suzuka 1000 KM in my X1.
To make it more interesting, when the fuel was low, I would dare myself to go one lap longer, I always failed to get back to the pits :D
As I was just cruising around at 50 MPH, I started shifting gears randomly.
Then I hit 60 MPH!
What I did to achieve this was shift back and forth quickly between 1st and 2nd gear.
When you do this quick enough, your speed goes up.
An interesting little discovery I thought that I would share 👍

Feel free to share your thoughts 👍

Is 60 then the limit or can you speed up to a higher speed with this "glitch"

What, so you never actually ran out of fuel and stopped?

Maybe it depends on how fast the car goes in first gear?

So did you ever try to just continue without pitting? Has anyone ever just come to a stop?

Surely there has to come a point where you actually "run out" of fuel. If you never come to a stop that is not cool. One would think that would be one the first things included in a sim.

Well that's just stupid. Well done PD.

This happened in GT4 too.

There was a guy on another thread who also ran out of fuel a quarter way around the Nurburgring, but decide to go the next 3/4 instead of just turning around.
So 3/4 of the Nurburgring with "no fuel".

If it's the same as GT4, then no, you do not come to a complete stop, you can go at least a half a lap of Nurburgring on no fuel, been there, done that.

The point is to get you to the pits for fuel.

Another game that this happened in was F1 2010.
Not the glitch, but the fuel thing.
When you ran out of fuel, you never ever come to a complete stop.

lol, I didnt know that.. Now I will not be afraid to run out of fuel and run laps with less weight so that improves my overal lap times.

The FIA, for reasaons I don't understand, decided to ban refeuling in F1 races. I don't get it at all.

It was to make F1 easier to watch for the audience.
Apparently they thought that we got confused if teams pitted with different strategies and fuel loads...
But whatever, an epic season till the end, so glad Alonso didn't win!

Wow.. the races must be like 10 laps now, SOOO much fun -_-
No wonder I don't care about F1, Dakar rally is MUCH better.

It is a rule with any manufacture licensed cars that are represented in any racing video game.

1. No car can come to a complete stop or show signs of a reliability issue.
2. No car shall show injury to the driver in the cockpit area, or objects that may enter and harm the driver.

true! and I am even more glad that Massa did not win and is doing worst than my blind grandmother could do!
:)

also, team order are now permitted among some other changes! This may result in some interesting strategy and tactics out on the tracks!

Did this in GT4 to help overcome the stupid 5 second penalty in rally stages.

I want Massa to be world champion. If he hadn't been injured last season i reckon he would have been in the title hunt as well. Nice to see team orders permitted, if you have a team you should all work together. You don't see football players tackling their own men just because they want to score,

One of the reasons we aren't allowed complete control over the car in a pitstop.
People would run over the pit crew to see what happens.
I don't blame them :D

Massa deserved to win in Hockenheim :(

Greener engines are starting to be introduced too, so less fuel which equals less weight, more speed!
I personally wanted that £40 million budget cap, will force teams to spend money more wisely.

Well the CPU can drive right through the pit crew members, when taking the sharp turn in.

I'd rather have a larger budget cap but over a few years. So a team could spend all their budget in one season, but then they'd have to use the same car for the next season, or they could have a new car the next season but not have money to develop it further.
