Gt5 freezes, but only gt5?

Hi there.

Today Gt5 started to freeze doing the loading of a race. I tried over and over again and it happend every time. I can`t even use the DS3. I tried some other games but they worked.
I have a 4 month old harddrive, but the PS3 is a launch model.

Any ideas of what the problem is?

I too have a launch model with original HDD in it.

Occasionally I get lockups. I think its the network for me. My DS3 still works when this happens (eg, ps3 button).

I'm not sure about your specific problem, but mine has been locking up in the seasonal events menu a lot!! It locks up for >1 minute, and for some reason has to update the data every time you reach the screen.

For some reason they lock the user interface when they try to update the rankings data. :( Apparently no one has heard of threads.
 
The online implementation smacks of complete lunacy. Seems as if, when it gets denied from a busy server, there's no timeout so it just keeps trying, more persistently, with all available system resources except the ickle bit that runs xmb.
 
It dosen`t matter if it`s GT life or arcade And it is everytime when loading the track, Can hear the blu ray drive stopes and the picture freezes and the sound too if there is any.
Just weird it`s only GT5.
 
Go to settings down(I guess it's network, or close to it) and select "clear cache". That fixed my freezes, hope it helps. This was suggested in the GT news also, try reading it sometimes. ;)

Did not do the trick. Still freezes everytime i turn it on. to the point where I can only turn the system off manually.

Heres a workaround guys.Works fine for me.

When gt5 freezes in the loading screen..unplug your ethernet cable from ps3 or turn your wireless/router modem off for a couple seconds, then turn it back on... this shoud do the trick. Your system will alert you about the "Lost connection" and gt5 will load whatever it was loading before the freeze...

It works fine for me... but if you´re experiencing offline freezes..i dont know what it could be.

Its better than turn the system off....with the risk of loose some precious data..
