So i need to gold the TG 1st challenge (in beginner??) to be able to play with the TG track. Is that the VW bus challenge?

Any tips or Youtube video??

On the straight always draft behind another van.
On the first corner brake late and hit into the side of another VW bus, that shouldnt disqualify you.

In the second to last corner the AI has brake fiesta, brake harder than you think you need and you can pass them. Braking normally will result in crash and disqualification.

If your finding this challenge hard, you won't stand a chance in the frustratingly fun (in my opinion) Lotus event.
But anyways, best of luck!

I love the tv show. Love it. I hate the first two events here, but it is in keeping with the tv show's sense of humour. I can see them mocking each other trying to get gold. It is also extremely humbling. So you think you can race just because you outtune and shove aside the AI cars in Aspec? Well, try this on for size. So humiliating.

And I think that's the whole point really. To be honest, I think the people that complain about the seemingly ridiculous nature of these challenges just suck at Gran Turismo.

After the first corner, the track kinks in the crossover area. If you take the first corner wide, you can duck inside before the kink. The two buses in front of you will brake, and you can shoot right past them on their left.

In the center of the kink, you cross over to the right side, and you can shoot under the next two buses at the start of the right-hander by the tires. If you're smooth here, you can accelerate past the next bus into 7th place before the straight with the left dogleg in it. After the dogleg, stay to the right on the edge of the pavement, and outbrake the next bus. That's just about half of the first lap, and you're in 6th.

The trick seems to be finding out where they'll diqualify you for a little nudge, and where you can get by with pushing a little harder...

Good advice and all but 1/2 the point of the challenge was also to know the track and corner names.
Righthander, dogleg, kink and all sounds rather confusing. Chicago, Gambon, Hammerhead?

Don't breathe, don't blink, don't hit anything, don't brake, don't use an auto tranny, no traction control hell...don't do it man, don't do it!!! Thing that bugs me about some of those challenges is, when the AI goes off the track and comes back on, they hit you and you get dq'd! what?!

*shrug*
I thought the only point was to pass other buses and come in 1st... So after beating all the other buses across the finish line by 3 seconds, you want me to go back and get the other half of the challenge (the corner names)?

I can do it, if you think that's what I really need to do...

Andmen, I hope you find the tips useful. Feel free to ask if I haven't been clear enough. 👍

No, what makes me mad about these challenges is that the rules do not apply to the AI. When the AI slams me from behind and I get disqualified. The AI is what makes the game frustrating at times. I would love to race toe to toe like I do in F1 2010 but the AI just does not promote that. Sure it can be done but at what cost? Frustration, lack of fun, na. If the AI actually made mistakes, raced each other ect...... then I would gladly race with like cars but when the race starts and cars 1,2 and 3 take off, get one behind the other like a train and the rest of the AI stay behind to block me, the fun of racing has left.

Right, because if I even breath on a piece of grass I am disqualified but the AI can scoot across open fields, no slow down or loss of grip and continue to race.

As many have said...

1) Draft on straights

2) Brake late into turns if possible

3) Not sure if this is the best idea but you can "drift" through Chicago pretty tight and pass a couple cars through there

4) Don't hit the rev limiter

You think that's hard, wait until you try the 2nd challenge :scared:
