So then, it's out tomorrow. Are you getting it? Will you be a creator or a player? Will you be using Move with it?

It's fairly certain it's going to be all kinds of awesome based on the demo and the videos I've seen, I'm also pretty sure that the user created content is going to be an even bigger part of the game this time round. It's also going to be more accessible as you can search for user created levels through a web browser and queue them up to play at home on your PS3! Check out the resources below.

LittleBigPlanet.com - Games news, game guide & DLC catalogue etc

LBP.me - Search for user created levels and queue them up to play at home on your PS3. View your own and your friend's profiles and recent activity.

I enjoyed the first one, but now I dont have the time for it. I can see it being a game full of unfinished stuff.

I was planning on picking it up, if I could stay away from GT5 though. I might soon, I'll trade in the first one or not, I still need to finish it.

I will probably get it, but later, still not finished with GT5, preordered Dead Space 2 and killzone 3 already and i haven't a lot of time for the moment.

But had fun with the first one, so i will defintifly get it sooner or later.

that reminds me, i still haven't played the prehistoric move game !!

I got mine today, and it's as amazing as the first one. Hopefully I'll learn how to create levels this time round, as I bought the first one quite late last summer.

I'm looking for some people to add on my friends who play LBP, as I'm making videos for it and people are welcome to join in the levels and make cameo appearances. ;)

I've only done the first few levels though, so I can't really 'review' the game, if you like.

PSN ID: i_iz_teh_pwnzor <--- Add. :)

I played the LBP 2 demo yesterday and wasn't really impressed with the extra features they're showing off. Felt like they were 'reaching' too much for something new. For the moment I will stick to LBP1.

You're seriously missing out. Nothing about the new features is "reaching". It's a revolution to the entire franchise, no questions about it.

Well I didn't enjoy them and I don't see how new toys shown in the demo is a "revolution". I couldn't even free aim the grappling hook, it would either point at my friend playing or the object the game set for me to use it on but I couldn't point it anywhere else and I couldn't remove it if I wanted to. The animals totally took away from sack boy, you get on them and you pretty much just become the animal and I couldn't get off. I didn't like the silly flipping almost everytime I get a launch pad, there might be a way to control it I don't know but I prefer sack boy just to jump like in LBP unless I choose to do a flip.

I am sure when users make levels they will make them much better and the demo was pretty much just to show off new 'toys' but I didn't enjoy them ad they didn't seem to add much but like I said I am sure level creators will do amazing things with them.

I will get LBP2 but for not for a while.

I will say the game feels more polished overall and I like the GUI.

God I love this game. I think I’ve already put in more hours than GT5 in total.

The thing I hate about this game is load times and timeouts. They take more time than the levels.

I cant believe there is not a thread for this game.

I played it over the weekend with Heather and some of the new features are really fun like the cake shooting gun, and the grappling hook. But one thing I noticed is that LBP2 doesnt allow you to use your stickers very often throughout the levels. In LBP1 you would be pulling out stickers almost every single level. I have only pulled out my stickers maybe 1 or 2 times after beating the entire first section of levels. Am I missing something? Do the stickers get more involved later in the game?

I also messed with the level editor for about an hour yesterday. Watched quite a few tutorials but still not sure how to make items stay where I set them. As an example: I set some of the bubbles higher in the air but as soon as I leave the menu, all the bubbles just fall down and roll away.

How is these game? It looks pretty awesome. I've played the first one, never got far to it but still enjoyed it.

I'm divided between this and Mass Effect 2.

The Little Big Planet games are amazing. They are side scrolling games similar to Super Mario Brothers or Sonic the Hedgehog. But with more puzzle solving and up to 4 player co-op. While you play you are trying to get all the items in the level. Some items are used to find items in other levels. Some are for your character. Very very addicting and some of these puzzles are very rewarding especially the 4 player co-op challenges. 👍

If you can find the first one you should pick it up for sure. Every PS3 owner needs to have LBP1 in their collection. Just make sure you get the game of the year addition because it comes with a lot of DLC. 👍

Yesterday was my last day of the rental for LP2 so I re-rented it for 5 more days. I plan to play it quite a bit over the weekend. :)
Still a little disappointed by the lack of sticker usage in LP2. I am most of the way through the 2nd world and still only used my stickers a couple times total. Heather has been having a lot of fun with LBP2 so she is going to start a profile for LBP1 since she never played that yet. So far I still like the overall feeling of LBP1 better but LBP2 does have a lot of new features.

One thing is for sure. LBP2 sure has me excited for Portal 2. The puzzle solving in LBP reminds me a lot of Portal and Portal 2 is a full co-op game.

Bubbles have to be suspended in the air. You can do this by hanging them from the ceiling with string, or by elevating them using rods / pistons (just set them to invisible).

You can suspend bubbles using the dark matter material. There is a video on youtube. My girlfriend found it and used it in our level.

I am talking about ANY object. Bubbles, stars, blocks, cars, anything. I cant even get the little mini point bubbles to stay in the air. As soon as I hit the circle button to exit my menu, everthing drops to the ground. EVERYTHING.

The score bubbles (mini bubbles) are what I am referring to. Everything else is by string. You have to make a tiny tiny tiny platform (makes it invisible basically) made of the dark matter material. make it two deep and place your bubble in the material. but place it high enough that you can walk under it without running into the platform.

Ok I will keep that in mind. I will probably mess with this tonight. So everything that is elevated in LBP1 and 2 has this string attached to it??
I love the level editor. Reminds me a lot of the customization with the Far Cry map editors. I figured most of the stuff out that I messed with besides the elevated objects. I will try your hint.

There are complications with that though, since dark matter is a material that can have collision properties (i.e. sackboy can run into it, walk on it, etc).

With rods, you can make them invisible and they'll never ever interfere with gameplay.

lol. I see myself doing the same thing. Especially if they don't give us DLC or a big patch giving us more tracks and events. LBP is definitely not a kids game. The things ts can do is amazing for a game that give you the power to make your own levels. How many people have wanted to do this. This game is a huge hit and is here to stay. In part one, they were so amazed at what people did that part 2 is even more creative. I am not far along in the game yet but by the time I am I will be like woah. I can easily see the user levels hitting 5mil in the next 2-3 years.

That's alot of copying. Not sure how that effects the thermometer and makes the file size larger. I am not even sure if you can hang a bubble using rods. I never tried. But if you elevate the matter it seems to work. Its not perfect but it works and it worked well when my girlfriend and I tried it. The trick is the size you make the platform. It won't be for every situation but you can use it and it simplifies things.

Rods actually will save you thermo space. Even if you shrink down the Dark Matter to the point where it is invisible, it still has to be loaded into memory, where a Rod / Piston are already going to be there built into the engine. It's actually more efficient to use them.

And yes, you can mount a bubble to a rod or piston :) I really recommend doing it this way, as it will save you thermo space and better allow you to tweak the placement of your bubbles. Just make sure you set the rods to stiff and invisible.

I found the dark matter you described last night and got that to work. However I did not find the strings or the platform. I just set the dark matter in the air right next to the object I wanted to "float" in the air and it worked. It basically glued them together. This didnt work as well with the little tiny score bubbles because I could run right into the dark matter. So I will have to make sure to "hide" the dark matter I think with the L1 or L2 button. But it worked perfectly for the backround objects that I wanted to float in the air. So that helped a lot. I still cant find the "strings" maybe I need to watch another tutorial so they get unlocked.

Strings and pistons are in the "tools" menu, not the materials menu, and I really suggest you use them. With strings, you can easily adjust your bubbles position (height) by tweaking the length of the string. The only catch with string is that it requires a platform above it to be suspended from.

With Rods, however, you can fix them to the ground and to your "floating" bubbles, and adjust their height. This requires no platform, and no wasted memory on additional materials (and best of all, zero chance of the dark matter getting in the way of your platforming / experience).

There really is no other way to do it if you want to be efficient and have your level play well 100% of the time.

Edit: Also, I think it's pretty clear that the consensus is that people want a LBP2 thread.

OK, guys. If you complain about there not being a LBP2 thread again, you'll get 500 infraction points.

LittleBigPlanet's awesome, but so is Mass Effect. For all LittleBigPlanet's charm, if I could only pick one, I'd pick Mass Effect without thinking twice.

NooooO!:nervous:

Has anyone aced all of the levels yet? A few of them have me pretty furious, lol. I feel like they're just unpredictable in places, or maybe I am, haha. Still having immense fun with it.

Nice LBP2 has its own forum. :)

Heather and I played through a few more levels last night and now we just got past "I knew we could make it" level. Or something like that. The difficulty in LBP2 is definelty cranked up much higher than LBP1. I guess thats good because overall LBP1 was faily easy.

I am still shocked by the lack of sticker usage in LBP2. I have only seen the sticker icon appear maybe 3 or 4 times. Heather never played LBP1 so I am going to have her start a profile on that over the weekend so she can have a chance to use all the fun stickers. I do like these levels that involve getting the mini robots to the end of the level. Some of those are quite funny.
