Hey all

Can anyone tell my why my GT steering wheel shakes like crazy and makes a lot of noise when I use it for the Indy track?
I've messed about with the settings but have had no joy.
It was fine for the Nurburgring 4 hour endurance, but now handles horribly!
Please help me if you've had the same problem.

Ive had the same problem but could not find a solution so I now use the controller when I use the X2010. :(

You sissy, jk

I think its just normal when your going over 300mph with a car so aerodynamic and low. Maybe a way to tune it to get it more stable i dont know. But i think it feels great. I also like watching everything on my desk have a race to the front of it:).

The best solution (on DFGT) is to put the downforce to it's lowest setting, and put Racing Hards on it. For some reason, the less grip there is on a car, the less pronounced the shaking will be:boggled:

The driver holds onto the steering wheel really weird...in real life he would not have the grip to turn that thing even at 40 mph.

I don't know the last time you have driven a real car at 300mph, but I imagine one would have to grip the wheel fairly tightly, even to go straight. Watching footage of people driving those slow, pokey F1 cars, they seem to be fighting their cars a fair bit regardless of the course. The game isn't much different. It has to communicate everything you would normally feel in a real life car through just the wheel. If turning down your FFB doesn't help, you'll just have to suck it up and deal with it, unplug your wheel motor's power, or use a DS3.

unplug the power and use it w/o FFB. Don't know if this works on DFGT though. Works with g27 though.

Thanks everyone. I've never joined a forum before and am overwhelmed by your responses.
I shall try each of them, or "suck it up" as necessary.

Also, why is a 9 hour race held on the smallest most boring track. It's too tedious for me to attempt yet.

Thanks all.

How the hell can you use your controller? I tried that and just kept eating barrier!
I must be too old for the controller, I'm a wheel and pedals man.
I must say I'm very impressed that you can drive it quick with a controller.

I am 100% agreed with you
So,I play nuburing 4h instead of that and jump to Le mans 24h

Thank you for valuable confirm
I will try it in my nuburing 24h race

Keep in mind with the power secured, the DFGT is crazy sensitive and there is 0 feedback. It's manageable for 20-30 lap races but a 24hr endurance would probably drive me nuts.

my g27 only shakes if i go straight, in cornes its ok. just make some slight turning moves while on a straight. you´ll be quicker with the x2010 anyway :)

I won the X2010 last night,i have the G27,ive turned the feedback down to 1,alot better now. There must be some really good drivers on this forum to get golds in all 3 races,it took me 2 days to get Bronze in all 3.Im new to GT5,had my G27 with a Wheel Stand Pro for 2 days, have to say this has really improved my driving skills, the W.S.P is as solid as a rock, really happy with my new set up!

May be you could try my setup :

- Car : Red Bull X1 (All parts/oil change)
- Track : Indy (Grind)
- Wheel : DFGT / FF = 6
- Gearing : Manual

Driving aids
- ABS : 1
- Everything else OFF

Setup
- Aero (Front/Rear) : 57 / 85
- Transmission : Top Speed = 500 km/h
- Customizable LSD (I/A/B) : 07/35/15 (default)
- Suspension (Front/Rear)
  • Ride Height : - / -
  • Spring Rate : 16.4/16.5
  • Dampers (Ext) : 7/8
  • Dampers (Comp) : 6/8
  • Anti-Roll Bars : 6/7
- Wheel Alignment (Front/Rear)
  • Camber : -1.7/-1.0
  • Toe : -0.3/+0.4
- Brake Balance : 5/5 (default)
- Tires : Racing Soft/Soft

Still little shaking with weak strenght.
You must hold the driving wheel -> you are running at 470 km/h
