Yes, you can still trade for expensive cars. It's just not as easy as it used to be, since it now requires random chance from opening birthday/level tickets.

Let's assume you want to trade for "Car X." You need to know two things about Car X.
What year model is it?
What level is it?

Some cars do not have year models (FGT, X2010, Camaro LM, etc).
Some cars don't have levels that match up with gift tickets (X2010s are level 40, LMP/Group C are level 23).

Once you have a year model and/or level number for your desired car, you need to trade for a corresponding ticket.

Once you have received the ticket, you need to backup your save data BEFORE opening the ticket. Chances are good that you won't get your car on your first pull, so you'll need to be able to restore your game save until you get the car you desire. Once you get the car you want, you're done, but your ticket is gone.

If you wish to use a ticket multiple times for multiple cars, you will need to store your tickets on a secondary account, duplicating the ticket up to your primary account once every day, so you can use it again until you have all the cars you want from that year or level.

So, now that we all know how it works, let's kick off Trading 2.0. :)

Sure, send me a level 40 ticket and we can trade.

I know, but wanted to make this a trading thread, since the original OP had nothing to do with being in the marketplace forum.

Some traders come only to this forum. What better forum is there for an informative post that benefits active traders the most?

Agreed, I am a serious trader and hardly ever visit any section of this forum, Mainly just the marketplace... Although I should really..

It's not really that complicated, I actually thought of this when they first implemented the 1million limit.

Why not just gift tickets??? I had a couple saved up but im only down to 1 now. Btw you can dupe tickets too.

Just because people who are heavily into trading are too lazy to visit other sub-forums, doesn't mean info best suited to those places should just be cross-posted here to encourage said laziness.

I imagine most people thought about using tickets once the limit was back in place, but as Ryan does have a point about the info being useful to those who live and die by trading, this can stay for now.

Does that mean we will have to restore our saves from the "secondary" account everytime after we send a ticket to the main? Just making sure..

Yes you will. You will want to have multiple USB storage drives OR you can send your save to another account on your PS3 that doesn't have GT5 used under it.

I use 2 external storage devices, but you could manage with only 1. You never have to have both game saves backed up at the same time, since you'll restore the secondary before saving the primary.

Can't I back up both my primary and secondary on 1 USB stick? or will they hav the same filename and wouldn't work?

So how would i be able to choose the car i want from a car ticket? Because i will still have to backup my primary prior to opening up the tickets.. meh i guess i will use 2 usb sticks for simplicity =)

1. Backup 2nd account save
2. Send ticket to main
3. Reload save on 2nd account
4. Receive ticket on 1st account
5. Backup save
6. Open ticket, receive car
7. Reload save if not desired car, repeat #6

i must advice you searching for 1 car or color in particullar is extremly aggravating so having 2 or 3 tickets of the same will help alot unless its a 1986 ticket.
Just for the record i' ve spend 3 hours last nite loading tickets to finally get only 3 cars but i am an obsessive and patient person... :/

I thought we couldn't send from sub to main account on same PS3 anymore? How is everyone still planning on trading? Me personally, I'm done. I have been thoroughly enjoying racing for the past month or so!

Been doing this for ages.(works for 1Mill + cars that you cant gift)
Have all my tickets backed up in second acc.
Save on main acc then open 1 ticket of desired year for car.
Pointless doing more than 1 as if you get car you want on say the 3rd ticket you have lost the other 2 tickets.
As if you restore save you lose car you just won.
So save and open 1 ticket. If fails re save and try again . Dont go for another ticket.

Then when you got car you want. Then gift over the same year fron your second acc to cover the 1 you just opened.

As Alexanda the Meerkat says ...."simples"..:)..lol. (uk advert, for anybody confussed).
