Hello fellow GTPers :)
After searching for hours for GT5 Car Class (mainly for non-street cars), I decided to create this thread. I'm sure there's someone out there like me who's wondering which car belong to which class. I'm no expert in this, so i would love your help to complete this list. Please take note that I started this thread to learn about car class, so positive comments/inputs are very much welcome.

P/S : There's threads like this like :
HERE, but this is a no longer effective without update eventhough with lots of inputs. As a matter of fact, lots of content was taken from this thread.
HERE, but not sorted according to their class.

I'll try to keep this thread alive until all possible cars fitted in here, as I'm online everyday, and let's hope I don't get ban one day LOL

LMGTP
A class for roofed prototype cars. Was eliminated later due to simplification of prototype cars class, LMP1 & LMP2.

Group 7
Mainly for participating in CanAm Series (or equivalent Japanese Grand Prix for the Toyota 7). The Group 7 category was essentially a formule libre for sports cars; the regulations were minimal and permitted unlimited engine sizes (and allowed turbocharging and supercharging), virtually unrestricted aerodynamics, and were as close as any major international racing series ever got to anything goes. As long as the car had two seats and bodywork enclosing the wheels, and met basic safety standards, it was legal.

Super GT / JGTC

GT500
Cars with no more than 500 horsepower. Regulations in GT500 are considerably looser than most GT classifications, and teams are free to change engines with other models made by the manufacturer, change the alignment of the engine, or add forced-induction systems to models which do not normally have it, however from 2010 onwards all GT500 cars run V8 engines displacing 3.4 liters. In comparison to other grand tourer series, GT500 cars are generally quicker compared to similar FIA GT1 cars, in part due to the more liberal aerodynamic regulations present in Super GT.

Um, the Acura nsx RM is based of a GT2 model, and the ZR1(or Z06) RM corvette are based on the GT1 car....so can they count? In there respective groups?

I wish I could race more events based on a particular class... I'm start hating to see a Ferrari P4 or a Jaguar against a Nissan GT-R GT500 in the same race... that doesn't make any sense to me. 2 different categories.

Don't know if you want to add anywere. But you got the group...le mans legends i guess. ford Gt40, ford mkIV, ferrari 330 p4, jaguar xj13, chevrolet corvette c2 Race car.

hehehe,me too.that's one of many reasons i never race A-spec anymore.yeah, about that.where does P4,XJ13,Miura fit?i know they need their own class, but what are their class in your opinion?

Researching that right now. Also the toyota 7, and chapparal's.

I imagine the Citroen GT Race Car would fit in well in GT1. At the least its competitive with the machines on that part of the list.

LM prototypes 60' / 70'
or at least the Historic Race Cars class. The problem is the Career Mode is simply not enough, there aren't enough event for all these classes. i.e. superGT... 16 premium race cars... only 3 races. only 3 damn boring races, NO championship at all. Fail PD! Simply it doesn't make sense. Six months modelling each car and only 3 races... What the hell. And the arcade mode is weird, too many times AI run with the wrong cars, if the PD let us decide AI's cars this game will be MUCH more enjoyable. With 1000 cars we want to organize things a little...

Makes you wonder, "What were they thinking..."

Both Pajero´s are Rally Raid Trucks and no WRC cars ;)
=> own class

A little side note: The Starion is a "concept car" too because it didn´t race once (because Group B was declared unsafe and was canceled during the Season).
[Correct me if I´m wrong]
But it is a Group B Rally Car ;)

F1 2007/2010 and the FGT belong to F1-Class (FGT maybe as F1-Concept)

M3 GTR Race Car: Isn´t it a LM-GT car ?? Because it raced in the ALMS ?

Maybe you could add a Touring Car Concept Class:
FTO Super Touring Car
Integra Touring Car
Impreza Touring Car
Altezza Touring Car

LM-Concept Class:
RX7 LM Race Car
S2000 LM Race Car

WTCC:
BMW 320i Touring Car

EDIT:
and this two:
S Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car '98
S Toyota GT-ONE Race Car (TS020) '99

Aren´t they FIA GT1 Cars ?? CLK GTR LM is in this Class too => either same class or complete new class ??
like: LM-GT1

Hmm they aren't proper GT1 cars, they are more like prototypes with a GT1 status, in the late 90's there were a bit of confusion with the regulations of this class.

A few for you to add here:

LMGTP:

Bentley Speed 8 '03
Toyota GT-One (TS020) '99

FIA GT3:

Audi R8 LMS '09
Audi R8 LMS (Team Playstation) '09

I don't think the Corvette ZR-1 RM fits into GT2. I would have thought it would be a GT1 aswell. The TVR Tuscan RM could be a GT2 class car. The BMW M3 GT-R is the closest to a real GT2 car (GT class) even though it never raced in FIA GTs.

For the Historic Le Mans class you can add in the GT40 '69 and the Chapperal 2D '67.

I see you fell for the Calsonic GT-R '00 in the JGTC GT300 class aswell haha. Should, of course, be GT500.

The Pajero Rally Raids ('85 and '03) are just that, Rally Raid cars. Should have their own class. You could put the Toyota RSC in that one too.

The Chapperal 2J and Toyota 7 are, as said before, Can-Am cars.

For a Touring car series you could have:

Super Touring:

Mitsubishi FTO Super Touring Car
Subaru Impreza Super Touring Car
Vauxhall Calibra Super Touring Car
Vauxhall Astra Super Touring Car

Touring:

BMW 320i Touring Car '03
Honda Integra Type-R Touring Car
Lexus IS200 GT1 Racing Car '04
Mazda 6 Touring Car
Mazda Atenza Touring Car
Toyota Altezza Touring Car

Hope this helps some.

@KingSakery : F1 added,WTCC really helps.thank you :)

@GTveteran : yeah,of course u helped mate 👍 especially Can-am cars.thank you :)

Yep, I second that...great thread even! I'll be using this as a guideline for the online race events I hold.
