Isn't there supposed to be a poll? (I haven't been keeping up with the cool wall)

I'm voting cool. I'm a fan of hotted up family cars, so long as they aren't tacky or bait for ricers. This car is subtle, yet hints at some oomph under the hood. I do like the name 888, and that they didn't go with something overused. like "R" or "S" or "X"

My brother owns number 6. He's obsessed with Astras, he's got 3 in various guises at the moment and must have owned over 30. It's for that reason that i rate this car as seriously uncool. It does my head in !

And for the record, it isn't fast - it's just uncomfortable.

The issue here is that when we look at it, no-one sees a car built by a touring car team. What we see instead is some 16 year-old's Auto Zone Garage Special. It may have nearly 200hp, that aero stuff may be functional, they might've thrown Eibach suspension at it, but without a sponsorship package it looks, well, like nothing more than Factory Rice.

Besides, It's a post-Supertouring BTCC car. If it's not ST or Earlier, it's just not that cool.

Seriously Uncool

It barely matters what's after the first word if it's "Vauxhall". It absolutely doesn't matter what's after the second word if it's "Astra".

As cool as a chest of drawers.

Eh...it's okay I guess. Decent looking, but that wing, on this car, looks like it came off the shelf at half price.

I was going to say that it barely edges into Cool, but nothing really jumps out at me. It looks all right, but it looks all right in a way that reminds me of something a high school student with a high paying part time job and a little common sense might put together.

Can't possibly be NA, I've nevereverever seen an NA engine make max torque that low while still winding out properly.

Uncool despite the somewhat "cool" powertrain (even if it is turbo).

Meh.

Get you laid if you're into teenage boys, but for the rest of us, its only something special if you really know your Vauxhalls...and that alone makes it even less cool.

Dude, my chest of drawers is the coolest in the state! :sly:

I can clarify that it is a turbo, 100% without doubt. Still a boring car though and i totaly agree with the comments about 'Vauxhall' and 'Astra'; the pinnacle of dullness.

It's a Vauxhall... it's been chavved... a Megane RS is a far better car (as is a Focus ST)... normally driven by people wearing Burberry... uncool.

888? It's a gambler!

But anyway, this is Uncool. That bodykit is pretty ugly and it just looks like a failed attempt at taking on the 135i Coupe BMW make. Uncool.

Tips a nod to the BTCC, which is a good thing.. it's far less chavvy looking than other cars voted as cool (cough - Sierra XR4 - cough - Escort Cosworth - cough). And I almost have a soft spot for Astras.. so I voted cool..

I thought the normal generation of this Astra was the dullest car ever. But this looks cool and it's a limited edition model made by the Vauxhall BTCC team of the time. It packs some punch. I voted cool.

Edit:
It looks much better from the back.

^^^ Funny thing, the back looks just like the front of a Corvette.

But anyway, I don't know what to say about the Vauxhall, so voted Meh.

Meh. Would only be cool if somehow Vauxhall were French and only Yvan Muller drove one.

Voted cool on a whim. The Astra Coupe isn't particularly interesting, but from the right angles it's a fairly attractive looking car (good roofline, certainly). The 888 thing adds a little bit of interest, as does rarity.

On the downside, although I've never seen one being driven in the typical Vauxhall manner (i.e. like a complete gentleman's sausage), I can imagine it's the sort of car to appeal to that sort of driver.

It's a Vauxhall, they're about as cool as a polar bear in an oven with a thermos full of tea.
