Here's a challenge that I believe will be difficult to get on the first attempt.

Extreme Series - American Championship - Laguna Seca

You have to run this race using a car with the following specs:

HP - 550HP or less You can use a more powerful car tuned down.
Tires - Sport Soft or Racing Hard.
No Aids including driving line.
ABS - 1 maximum.
Weight 1150kg minimum. (you can use ballast).
No Formulas or X2010's.

There will be two categories based on tires (Sport Soft or Racing Hard).

Post your winning times in the following Manner.

Time - Gap on 2nd Car - Vehicle - HP - Weight - Tires - # of attempts

The winner is the person in each tire category who can win using the least HP. Good luck!

Ok I'll try this & I hope you'll keep updating this unlike the kid that made up the TOP GEAR challenge.

sigh…must you point it out so deliberately? I'm updating it from now on so stop whinging ok? Anyways, nice idea, I particularly like the 'Gap on 2nd car' part, adds some fun to it.

Ok cool here's my results: 7:27:957 (2.158 Panoz Esperante GTR-1 Race Car '98) Car I used was the Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car 550 HP 1165 KG Racing Soft Tires & 6 attempts.

My first attempt was with the DS3 and boy did it stink.

8:06:942 - -53.482 - Ford GT LM Spec II - 500HP - 1150KG with Ballast - Sport Soft Tires.

Next shot will be with a wheel.

I thought racing sports are not allowed but only SS or RH...

Yeah, but he ran it; so I put it in as a separate category. It's not an easy challenge. You basically tuning the car down so that you're on an even footing with the AI cars. I don't expect many takers because of how tough it is.

I think I had a good idea that's challenge worthy. I used a fully tuned Shelby Cobra to win the Historic Race Car Championship. Monaco was relatively easy, but at Deep Forest, with a suspension as hard as I had to make the car's suspension to be able to corner properly, it bounced over any bump making you have to tread extremely carefully. Plus the Toyota 7 is unbeatable, you have to start no the grid ahead to stand a chance.

This seems like a good challenge, i'll give it a go later on.

Camaro SS "edge special"

550hp
1318kg
573PP
Racing Hard

Probably not the best car for this, but I don't have very many cars in my GTP account.

7'08.498 (2nd and 3rd were Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II "7'11.066" and 2J "7'11.878")

This was a clean race. No bumper car passes. 5th attempt.

Crap my bad I meant to tyoe Racing Hard not soft....damnit I should've proof readed. Sorry.....You know what? I'll try this again w/ a different car WTH? lol

O.......M......G - 7:21:177 * 00:259 * 2010 TONY STEWART #14 IMPALA * 550 HP (Power level @ 61.7%) * 1565 KG * Racing HARD * Somewhere around 10 tries.

7:18.xxx 00.335 '69 Camero Z28 Rm (Chaparral 2J) 550 HP 1150k rh 20 tries

Also:
7:02.xxx 7.713 '69 Camero Z28 Rm (Ford GT LM) 550 HP 1150k rs 2 tries

Fun challenge.....hard to do on racing hard tires.

Here's my attempt:

Highlandor - 7.04.966 * 3.059 (Chapparral 2J) * Corvette C6 Z06 '06 RM * 550BHP * 1150kgs * RH * 2nd attempt

Power limited used - 96.2% - all possible tuning parts taken off. 60kgs ballast, position 0, PP = 611.

First run I had incorrect weight, but got same race time.

Lost time on lap 1 with traffic, made a couple of mistakes (especially on last lap - lost over 1 sec there), but generally pretty clean, but not perfect. Sub 7:00 mins definately possible with better setup, more practice and cleaner laps.

I got 1:23 laps 2/3/4, then 1:24 on last lap (over corrected oversteer out of last corner and hit wall), best lap was 1:23:370.

Replay saved and setup available - if wanted by anyone. Not 'perfect', but good enough to get the job done i.e. win the race with event regulations.

Rotorist (with DS3) 7.05.473 * +2.8 (Ford GT LM Race Car SpecII) * Corvette C6 Z06 '06 RM * 545BHP * 1150kgs * RH * 1st attempt

I think I'll give it a go on wheel (DFPro)...

Some touch with a viper in first corner and easy overtaking from there on.

I quit for now.

Skylinefx: 7:00.687 * +6.436 * High End Performance G37 * 529 HP * 1266KG * RS * 4 attempts.

First and last laps were scrappy... Could've easily been a 6:58.xxx

Rotorist (DS3) 6.47.198*+9.9 (2J)* Corvette C6 Z06 '06 RM * 550BHP * 1150kgs * RS * 8th attempt (2nd with RS tires)

Mind sending me the replay?

Mind sending me the replay?

Not at all - haven't a clue how to do that, but it's still saved so as soon as I work out how (plus possibly get some new batteries for my digital camera) I can verify this.

This run with the Vette was a bit scuffy though, the Viper's run was alot cleaner, as was the 525bhp vette run, but I didn't save either of them.

I can always do another, it's not a problem, pretty sure, with more pratice I'd be going a tiny bit faster.

I didn't spend ages either practicing or setting up for this event - I guessed a setting, did 2 laps free practice to check it, amended setup, 2 more laps of free practice, then 'went for it'.

With more practice I think I'd be able to shave a few seconds off, not much, but with a bit of luck possibly sub 7:00 minutes on RH with around 515-525bhp is possible for the Vette and Viper.

I think the best time triallers / drivers in the game would easily be able to do that though, I'm not one of them, but I'm 'ok' at driving and setting up..

What is the meaning of winning and having the least HP? For me at least it means be fastest or equal fast having less HP.

In addition I have a suggestion. Only our best laptime should be in the list. It's difficult to attend it right now...

Seems pretty clear to me - whoever WINS the race using the least amount of horsepower as possible (for each of the tyre categories). It's not how fast you complete the race, it's whoever wins using the car that has the lowest BHP / KW.

The OP says this:

The winner is the person in each tire category who can win using the least HP

Rotorist (DFP) 7.03.897*+2.57 (2J)* ΑΕΜ 2000 * 453BHP * 1155kgs * RS * 10th attempt (2nd with this car)
