With the Integra World Championship over in just over a week now, it's time to discuss what we'll do afterwards. A brief discussion in the Integra thread, and I have some basic ideas of what I want. Nothing is 100% set in stone, so feel free to suggest ideas.

Obviously, by the title of the thread, the car we'd use would be the Lotus Elise 111R RM. An extremely nimble little car that absolutely eats corners of any type for breakfast. This will be another spec series, in the same vein as the Miata series, ISF series, and Integra series. I don't want to increase the power too much, so all I have added right now is an ECU upgrade, and a Racing Air Filter, which gives it 236 HP @ 70 miles. Broken in, I'll guess it'll hit 239/240. Racing Hard tires give it a perfect amount of grip, imo, able to break the car loose when you want, but nothing too slidey. Not to mention that it is technically a race car, after all.

As I've said before, I want to have an 8-race season, up from the Integras 6. I've done a bit of testing, and this is a rough list of what I'd include if we started right now:

Laguna Seca
Indy Road course
Nurburgring 24H
Circuit de la Sarthe*
Cape Ring South
Trial Mountain
Rome
Suzuka

I'll probably do what I've done for the Integras, and have races that are around 45 minutes long, 60, and 75. Our "big" race at Circuit de la Sarthe will be another mini-enduro, but this time I'll expand it from 90 minutes, to a full 2 hours.

Races will be held Sunday, late afternoon (4:00 - 4:30 EDT), with a qualifying session on Saturday, and ability to qualify on Friday if one desires. Other than the days, everything will be exactly the same as the Integras: 4 lap race, with a drivers best time from laps 2 and 3 counting as their quali time. Then when the race starts, I call you on track in order, and you line up on the track in your qualifying order, then I press "start race."

So yeah, that's the basics of it. If there's anything else you'd like to know that I've forgotten to put here, feel free to ask. I want this to start right after the Integras end, so if we get enough interest, I'll make a sign-up thread

I'm definitely interested. 111R's almost my favorite RM.

What about a multi-class series? I know a lot of people throw that idea out too... but I don't know. Maybe too much hassle.

Anyway, I'd love to participate. Racing hards?

And as for tracks. Madrid? :D Would love to see that one 👍

Jav threw me an idea for a multi-class series that I can use if I can be bothered to make one. But as for now, I want to stick with Spec series'.

Racing Hard, yes. I wont go any softer (expect possibly Mediums for qualifying, but I'm not sure), and it'll take a lot of convincing to get me to go with Sports tires.

I can't say I'm a fan of Madrid, to be honest. I like Rome much more.

Glad to hear you're interested, though 👍

This all looks good to me 👍 I already have an Elise RM set up, and I absolutely love the car. The way it eats corners is just amazing, even on sports softs which is what I normally run it on. It should make for some very fast and competitive racing :D

And as for tracks. Madrid? :D Would love to see that one 👍
I think Madrid could be fun as well. Not this series as Rome is a good track and it's already taking up the street track spot, however running Madrid in a future series would be fun.

I was in the middle of getting 2, yes 2 RM Elise's set up (mostly for testing purposes). I was planning on entering one in Turbo's Targa Toscana, until it got cancelled.

So, yeah, consider me interested. This series will be a good opportunity for me to develop my Elise, and get better at driving it.

BTW, I'll try to finally make the Capp Cup tonight, though it conflicts a bit with Flyin' Miata qualifying, as I'm sure you know.

Yeah, I'll have to ask RT when he's having the session go on until.

I like the idea of qualifying on a softer tire, starting the race on that tire then requiring a switch to a harder tire to finish the race on. Could make things interesting.

Qualifying tonight? Probably for a few hours depending on if anyone is around that late. I'm going to hit the 11pm showing for Super 8 so would like to shut things down around 10:00.

I can guarantee that someone will "forgot" to change compounds, though. :/

You know I'm in.

Great to hear 👍

I'll get to work on a mock OP for the sign-up thread, and will try to post it tonight before the Miata race.

29 laps at La Sarthe is 250 miles, so I may go with that, then have races of 100/125/150/175 miles.

Here's the mock OP. A rough draft, if you will. A lot of this is either copied from the Intagras, or from Flyin' Miata.

Again, nothing is completely set in stone.
===========================

From the creators of the Honda GTPlanet Integra World Championship, comes the GTPlanet Elise 111R Cup Series! This series will be run with... You guessed it. The Race Modified Lotus Elise 111R '04.

[Insert picture here]

If you can find it in you to ignore the Top Gear challenge, when Race Modified, this thing turns into an incredibly nimble beast, capable of eating virtually any corner you can throw at it for breakfast.

When modified to Spec., the car should have [~239) HP, and [PP] Performance Points. All adjustable settings (Suspension, Differential, Downforce, Ballast) are allowed to be freely adjusted to your liking. The following is what you will need to compete in this series:

NOTE: You must have ALL parts equipped to your car. Nothing more, nothing less. Violators will be DQ'd from any races in which there car is not spec.

Lotus Elise 111R '04 (P)
Oil Change
Full Race Modification - Purchase this before buying any other parts
ECU Tuning
Racing Air Filter
Adjustable LSD
Racing Hard Tires

Oil Changes, Engine Rebuilds, and Chassis Maintenance are allowed as many times as you like throughout the season.

Racing Rules:

-All OLR Rules are to apply here.

-Slight rubbing is inevitable, and is allowed, but intentionally spinning out another driver is strictly prohibited. In the event that this happens, Time penalties may be assessed, and Grid penalties for the next race you enter may be assessed, or you may be excluded from the race results, depending on the situation the incident occurred in. Repeat offenders risk being disqualified from the championship.

-Accidents happen. If you make a mistake which causes another racer in front of you to spin out, you must wait for them to rejoin the track, and allow them to overtake you before returning to race speed. Failure to do so will result in a time penalty set so that you finish behind the victim.

-If you are caught up in a wreck that happened in front of you, unfortunately, there is nothing we can do for you.
EXCEPTION: If somebody involved in an accident rejoins the track without regard for the position of others, and causes somebody to hit them, then they are subject to the same penalties as above, depending on intent.

[Insert anything else I need to add regarding racing rules here.]

Qualifying and Gridding procedures:

Qualifying:

-Qualifying will take place the Friday and Saturday before each race, at 6:00 PM EDT.

-You may come to both sessions, but can only qualify once.

-Qualifying will be set to "4 lap race" method used in the Integra series, and Flyin' Miata Super Cup.

-When the qualifying room is ready to start a session we will let one or two (depending on room size) chosen drivers go out one at a time (to give each other room). When the qualifying session begins on track, one driver will be chosen to start their out lap first and the second driver will be told to hold on the line for 20 seconds until they can start.

-All other visitors in the room will be watching the driver(s) to make sure their laps are clean.

-The room will be set to a 4 lap race. Only laps 2 and 3 will count as qualifying "flying lap" times.

-The driver's fastest lap will set their qualification.

Gridding Procedure:

-To grid the cars at the beginning of the race, I will call everyone's PSN name in the exact order qualified. One at a time we all line up on a chosen straight of the track in order of our qualifying position. We set the room to grid drivers according to the "fastest first" option. If we start the race where everyone is parked in line in qualifying order it will put us in that order for the race start.

==========================================================

Courses and Event dates:

Races will be held every Sunday, at 4:30 PM EDT (GMT -4), 9:30 PM BST (GMT +1)

-Open practice is allowed upon entry. The race room will be open at around 4:00 PM. Gridding starts at 4:25 PM
-False starts will be turned ON. [Not sure on this, but leaning towards it]
-Microphones are not allowed during the race, please turn them OFF (NOTE: Microphones ARE allowed before and after the race)
-If you have an issue with another driver, please send them a PM. If you cannot reach an agreement, contact a Race Steward
-If you disconnect during the race, you will be marked with a DNF. You will receive points if you complete 75% of the race distance
-If for some reason your game glitches, and holds your car in the Pit lane, or does not give you control of your car following a pitstop, there is nothing we can do for you. Treat it as if were a real life mechanical problem.
-Each race has One REQUIRED pit stop

Races will be held Sunday, late afternoon (4:00 - 4:30 EDT), with a qualifying session on Saturday, and ability to qualify on Friday if one desires.

Damn, that counts me out. That makes it 8am on a Monday morning. I was looking forward to taking part in a full season on Sunday mornings...

Again, it isn't set in stone. I don't like the whole "one day show" we've been doing in the Integras, though, which is why I like Sunday nights for the race.

Do you have to work Monday mornings, or would you be okay if it was pushed back slightly?

Well that's my thoughts of lotus world domination down the pan. Monday mornings are a no no for me. Shame, I've got an RM just sat doing nowt.

Sounds interesting, love the RM'ed Elise. However, as my participation record in Integra series shows, daytime on weekend is not good for me. I could me able to make it occasionally, but there's no chance of me making to a qualifying session. 6pm on Friday is way to early.

And may I suggest Rome Reverse. Way more fun than just Rome, IMO.

Allowing some mods, but not all makes little sense to me. But since tuning is gonna be involved anyway, I'd make it interesting and create some trade-offs. For example: cap the PP a level achieved by maxing-out HP, but with lowest downforce. That way on some tracks one could go for full downforce, giving up some power. Just a though though.

Yeah, I work Mon - Fri 8-5 so all of the midweek night races you guys do dont suit me. But hey, I am just one guy and please dont make any special adjustments to suit. You guys just sort it out and when it's all organised i will try and fit in where i can.

Cheers Mule,

vodas...

I'll likely just make Friday an "open" qualifying day, where you can qualify anytime you want, provided I'm on.

At for the race, I have no problem with pushing it back a couple of hours, but then a) we risk not being able to make it for the remaining Miata races, and b) we may lose our European racers (though the Integras only have two, syjones and Ghova).

Saturday at 8:00 PM is also an option, pushing Saturday quali ahead a couple of hours. The 1-day show, again I don't like it, but at least this would give me a quick break so I'm not going for 6 hours straight, with making the qualifying room, waiting for people to show up to qualify, racing, then watching the replay if i need to. This would also allow The Aussies and Kiwis to join up, of which I know a couple are interested.

And may I suggest Rome Reverse. Way more fun than just Rome, IMO.

I'll have to try it out, but I like regular Rome a lot.

I want to find a good HP that's a bit faster than stock, but not all-out fully tuned. I duped my Elise last night, so now I have a test mule (no pun intended) to put different things on it.

Okay, so about the mods, I added everything to it that wasn't a) A turbo kit or b) one of those permanent engine stages

It's sitting at 259 HP right now, and still feels great. so I'm going to go with that.

All we need now is to solidify the dates, and I can make the sign-up thread.
