Trying to go on track. I will get these two messages

Message 1:
"Failed regulations.

Please check your settings."

Message 2:
"No violations were detected, but authorisation failed.

Please try again."

This is usually how my online races have ended everytime. I only experience internet connection issues in GT5 (if you can call it that). People who connect to my lobby will experience this and I will get the messages when I enter anyone else's lobby, it's just a matter of time before it will start.

Usually it's triggered when I go to track, go off the track, change setup, change car or change driving options... which means.. it can start ANYTIME. It's so frustrating and I can't figure out how on Earth I can get rid of this problem.

I hope there is someone out there who can help me :)

My connection:

Wired
NAT 2

(PC Test, naturally)

I've got the same problem! When a race ends (which I can compete in), I can't go back to the track. I get the same message (No violations were detected, but authorisation failed). Other people don't seem to have the same problem though, as I can see them driving. Also I can view others racing.

Only had (noticed) this problem since the last update.

I've had it since the release. It has completely ruined my online experience. I'm thinking it could bring the game to another level if I got it fixed. Actually being able to race online without problems.

EDIT: I am thinking the problem is located in the word "authorisation".. if anyone know what it covers...

I used to have those problems, not lately. I think the updates somewhat fixed the problem for me.
I haven't been online much, thought. I haven't tried hosting, either.

Woah, the more thread I read the more problems I find lol
PD give us a fu++in break please! Bug and issues everywhere.

This literally happened to me for the first time a couple of nights ago. I've never seen it before, nor (touch wood) since. Pretty peculiar.

It's been around since the game first came out, but thankfully it's not common, but it will happen a lot once it starts. Best to quit room and rejoin then should be fine. In my opinions it's just a bug that can't be helped by you.

Perhaps your car's engine is running in and going over the room's HP limit. I thought that the run-in effect didn't apply to online & seasonals but while I can't speak for online, I know that the new expert challenges on the seasonals experience run-in now.

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure that the TT events I played didn't have run-in.

I thought that the run-in effect didn't apply to online...

Yes it does but all that happens is after the race if you've gained some extra hp it just won't let you go back on track. Powerlimit it slightly and you're good to go.

OK8

But that's not the problem... if it was, it would say I had too many bhp and not THIS...

In order to have GT5 working flawlessly on-line besides clear your cache from the in-game options/network menu it's better to open, for the PS3 IP, the following ports on your firewall (from GT5 manual inside the game):

TCP 80
TCP 443
TCP 5223
UDP 3478
UDP 3479
UDP 3658
UDP 5658

and also, if it's possible in your router, to put the PS3 IP in the DMZ function.
This two operations will make possible to have less lag and room connection problems.

This is an interesting web site to help you operate your router to open the correct ports:

http://portforward.com/english/appli...smo_5index.htm

I know this thread has gotten a bit old, but today I tried portforwarding. Nothing changed AT ALL... so I'm completely lost.

WHAT IS CAUSING THIS?

Bonus knowledge: My router is the ZyXel P660-HW D1 if that is useful to know. A terrible router that can't handle GT5 online maybe? Idk...

I had this problem ALOT until I figured out how to get my setup down to NAT2. So it may be router craziness that at least contributes.

As I said, I already have NAT2.

The router is not a world class router, admitted. I've had problems with it finding my pc too. Sometimes I have to restart the router to get internet access on the pc.

This comes if your (for example) car has 650Hp and Weighs 1250 KG, and the limits are max. 600 HP and min. 1300 KG.

Yes!!!!! If it was the regs, why on Earth would the lobby freeze - can't do anything else than chat...

And if it were the regs, why would I even start a thread about it...

No idea, but it's a very rare kind of incombatibility, I think. I have absolutely no idea what's causing it, but it's the only game where I have any problems. I still think the key word to the problem is found in "authorisation".

hmm, polyphony maybe messed up their online servers... because ports are open for me, nat 2, awesome dl speeds.
