Winning
To win the Championship you must participate on at least 4 of the 6 races. Your top 4 scores will be applied to the Championship. The driver with the most points wins.
Scoring
The DTM scoring formula. The points for the top-eight positions are awarded according to the following system: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1. There are neither void results nor extra points for pole positions or fastest race laps. The winnner is the driver with the highest point total for all three races.
1st = 10 pts
2nd = 8
3rd = 6
4th = 5
5th = 4
6th = 3
7th = 2
8th = 1
The Rules
1. THE TOP PRIORITY IS CLEAN DRIVING
a. Don't be in such a hurry. Most incidents happen at the beginning of a race. With drivers in a hurry to get to the front of the pack. Its a mini endurance. You'll have a chance to catch up.
b. First keep in mind you're on COLD tires; they don't handle well until they warm up. Take your time.
c. Second, the guy who jumps out ahead is not normally the guy who wins. After the turn the cars behind usually "draft" ahead of the leader. It's not necessary to have the early lead. This is a mini-endurance you've got time.
d. Use caution when passing in tight areas. If you cause an incident you may not faulter but you will get a 30 sec penalty for each incident caused.
e. If you're being passed hold your line and let the faster car go around you. You may not need to WIN the race to win the series or championship. These are mini-endurance races in which strategy plays a role. The #1 rule is to avoid knocking your opponent off the road. Again a 30 second time penalty is applied for each incident you cause.
2. When returning to the track look to make sure you are not pulling out infront of another car. Set your arrow buttons to give you both left and right view.
3. Rule #3 - Refer to rule #1 & 2.
4. Don't cut the chicanes or the corners. Always have either both right or both left tires on the track at all times when going around corners or chicanes. Cutting could add 2 seconds to your time for each infraction. Depends on the severity and number of infractions during the race.
5. Passing
The Car Infront
a. Has the right to the line.
b. Maintain your line do not maneuver to cut-off the passing car.
c. Once passed you can maneuver to catch the draft of the car that passed.
The Car behind
a. Is responsible for a clean pass.
b. Do not bump as you pass or bump draft.
c. You can draft, just don't make contact.
d. Use care if passing on a corner; most incidents happen here.
6. REMEMBER - Clean Driving - High Speed battles are fun only if we're not bumping into one another.
Race Incidents
1. Please, the objective is a clean, competitive, fun, challenging race. Use care, use caution not to hit the cars around you.
2. If you feel you're the victim of a race incident:
a. First save the replay that's located under the podium icon.
b. View the replay to get better perspective on what happened.
c. Send me a PM concerning the incident, specifying which lap the infraction occured on.
Practice Procedures
a. One hour to thirty minutes prior to start time track three will be available for practice laps.
b. From thirty minutes prior to start time track #2 will be available for practice laps.
c. When start time is reached a 15 minute qualification period commences on track #1.
d. The Event will start 15 minutes after the hour.
Membership
All IHPRL events are open to everyone. However, members have first priority to participate. To join either post in this thread or send a pm to FishHunters and an invite will be sent.
