Why do people want 0/0/0 cars?

I understand what 0/0/0 is but why does it matter (specifically) about the miles/km's on a car? Sure the power may be slightly less but not much, and won't an engine rebuild and oil change fix that?

I get you don't want a modified car, as some parts can't be removed, but the km's and race wins mean nothing to me.

Just curious what the fuss is about.

I totally agree. The point of this game is to drive. Why people even want to just have them standing in their garages is beyond me...

This. We've beaten this dead horse a million times, and then beat it again for good measure. If it doesn't matter to you, why asketh?

It may not matter to him, but he's asking because he may be confused on the reason why people would want it. Did you not read it thoroughly?

I did, thanks for your concern, and contribution to the thread. But my question was not directed to you. Regardless of the nature behind the question, a simple search would have yielded a bountiful array of threads just like this.
For me, I do it to have a garage of pristine, un-touched cars, for my own enjoyment. I own duplicates of said pristine cars to tune out and shred asphalt with.

He may not even know where the search button is.

I agree with the OP people are too fussy about this 0/0/0 thing. That said, once the car reach about 10.000 km, engine's full power can't be restored with an engine overhaul. If you want to trade used cars you should ask for low mileage, as in real life. :)

Haha. :sly: I certainly hope this is not the case.

I've got a deal of a lifetime for you, I'll play the game in a manner of my choosing, and you are invited to do the same. As can everyone else that owns the game that someone spent money on to purchase. Deal?

Well said. I collect them just for something different to do in the game. I really don't think its a big deal either way. I have also collected all the Red Bull cars in every color, I suppose the OP has something to say about that. Well, before you do, let me answer it for you. I did it because I can and wanted to. Each person is going to play this game how they want to and I don't think they should be flamed for how they do it. They paid their money for the game so they should be able to do what they want without ridicule. Thanks.

Think of it this way. The racing in the game is a challenge, yeah? Well collecting 0/0 standard cars is to, as they're not so easy to collect, and completing a challenge is satisfying/fun. At least that's why I do it, I guess many other collectors feels the same way.

I like 0/0 cars (when I get them) to see how much I've used them in the game rather than what is essentially a random number. It also makes sorting to find your favourite cars easier (insert reply about putting them into my favourites tab :P ).

btw I've never traded for any cars 0/0 or otherwise

I used the search function to first try and find out what 0/0/0 meant, and you know it took over 6 pages of reading peoples posts before I found out. Sometimes it's easier for someone to post a simple 10 second reply of the answer than try and lead you on another goose chase. I may not have many posts here but I have thousands on car collector sites so do know my way around forums, and know they can be an absolute nightmare to navigate an answer from when your search turns up so many pages.

Anyway, so it's just a collector thing? Fair enough, thought there may have been something I'm missing. I'm hovering around the 20 million mark and just because I can't go higher, I go to any of the dealerships and buy what looks interesting next. Just last week I brought all of the RM cars in a row, then did races in them and then brought all the Ferraris in a row (except the F2010 and P4). So yes, each to their own in collecting but I just didn't know why 0/0/0 were important to some.

Oh, I also collect diecast cars and usually want them in their packaging so I guess they are 0/0/0 cars also

I understand the 0 Miles, but what's with the 0 switches and 0 wins??

0 switches means it hasn't been touched, in it's original colour which most people like. 0 wins goes back to 0 miles. If you have a win, you obviously you have miles.

I've always wondered what the biggie is about 0 miles too, but each to their own of course.

What does annoy me is people implying that the OP is telling them what to do, and how to play the game, when if you read his post properly, he's merely curious to learn why people do it. Chill the ___ out.

Also "use search" gets a little old. If none of us ever posted anything in case it was touched on once before 6 months ago, there wouldn't be much discussion here. OK it makes sense for people posting the same wishlists over and over or asking for a tune, but I look at these forums most days and have never seen another thread asking what the appeal of 0/0/0 is for those who value it.

If anyone has links to the previous discussions please share, as presumably it was discussed at a little more length without folks overreacting.

I was actually trading a guy that wanted a 0/0/0 car and I accidentally pressed the wrong button once and got into it. He freaked out and said that the car doesn't appeal to him anymore. I don't see why their like gold or something, but play how you want I guess.

No discussion needed for some: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=252528

If the agreed terms were 0/0/0, then it should be 0/0/0 cars. You have no idea what he will do with the car he receives from you. May he keep it in the truck or put it into his garage to just collect nothing but dust.... OR he could use the car he received from you to trade with someone else that wants only a 0/0/0 car. So your car was useless @ 1/0/0 to HIM or HER.

So 0/0/0 is just for people that are anal, OK.

Moving on...

And all this time people have been discussing this, all we needed was this invaluable observation.
Thanks for your input on how people choose to play the game they worked for the money to buy.

Bingo.
