On my 2nd rig (Sim-Seat) I connected my Fanatec GT2 wheel with a set of reversed CSP and a Fanatec shifter (sequential) The past few days while playing Forza 4 with manual/clutch we noticed every car coming to a screeching halt.

Engage the clutch and bring up the RPM and then as soon as I release the clutch the car will not move. So I tried just manual without the clutch, the car would not move again. Next I tried an Automatic transmission and the car would not move, that is until I put it in reverse. The car then drives in reverse but no forward gear works.

I have not tried the H shifter yet, does this sound like the sequential shifter is toast? Is there anything that can be done to fix it myself?

Are you sure it's not just transmission damage? Cause I'd find it weird that it should be the wheel when reverse only works no matter if set on manual w/clutch, manual or automatic.

To every car in the game? and it's the shifter I believe is problematic not the wheel.

If you simply unplug the shifter and power up the wheel, what does it do? If its the shifter it should be resolved. Then if it is it could still be the cable or the shifter itself. Or if the H shifter causes the same effects maybe an issue in the wheel. Firmware issue maybe... It could be the saved settings causing a hickup. Maybe a reset to factory defaults will help. If that doesnt maybe reflashing the FW. If that's not it then I dunno as I am just helping with just IT experience here.

I think I found the problem, I started this morning driving a vette. It worked good for about 3 laps and then the same issue popped up. Disconnected the shifter and it did the same thing.

I then pulled the CSP and connected them to my PC and the Fanatec Calibration screen. The brake pedal would not register. I looked at the wires in the PCBA it appears some wires were loose or a faulty PCBA. I lightly moved the wires and then the brake registered. Re-connected the pedals and after 10 laps they worked again,

I wish Fanatec's quality was better, I only have had these pedal for about 5 or 6 weeks. To me this is unacceptable. Hopefully this was the issue and it will work from now on. Thanks Logi for your input. 👍

No problem. I'm happy the problem is fixed. ;)
The more I get to know products the faster I will be able to diagnose things like this. So hopefully when I get my Fanatec wheel I'll be faster in figuring out issues. Which hopefully never pop up.
