Series Updates

Welcome to the new series, I encourage anyone who has interest in joining a prototype race car series please join. Any skill level

PLEASE - do not sign up if you are not available to race at the current time or will just not show up on race day.
You must Take the initiative and show up on race day, I will not be spamming all the drivers with PM's reminding them of race day/time. If you cannot make a race, post in the thread so we can find a replacement

Only 2 of the same car will be allowed; Cars are picked on a first come first served basis.
CHOOSE Wisely, You will not be allowed to switch cars unless approved by the SLMC Officials​

2010 Audi R10 - 580 HP - Stock Weight

2008 Peugoet 908 - 560 HP - Stock Weight

2003 Bentley Speed 8 - 550 HP - 920 KGs

1999 BMW VMR V12 - 580 HP - Stock Weight

1991 Mazda 787b - 560 HP - Stock Weight

1999 Toyota GT-One - 550 HP - Stock Weight

2005 Pescarolo C60 Hybride - 570 HP - Stock Weight

2003 Pescarolo Courage C60 - 570 HP - Stock Weight

The Toyota Minolta , Sauber C9 & Peugeot 905 & Jaguar XJR-9 will not be allowed in this first season.

Rules

Lobby Settings:

Racing will be in a public lobby, with a private title name.

Skid Recovery: Disallowed
Active Steering: Disallowed
Driving Line: Allowed
TCS: Allowed
ABS: Allowed
ASM: Allowed
Tire wear & fuel: ON
Grip reduction rain & track edge: Real
Penalties: Off
Visual Damage: off
Damage: Light
Boost: Off
Draft: Low

Weather Changeability: 4
Surface WX @ Start of Lobby: 0
Surface WX @ Start of Race: 0

Racing:

No ramming or bashing of other cars is allowed. All Drivers are expected to to read and follow GTP's Online Racing Rules

Track Boundaries: Cutting chicanes & corners is not allowed. 2 Wheels must remain on the track.


Overtaking: clean overtaking is the responsibility of everyone on track. Any racing incidents that happen as a result of poor overtaking, the overtaker may be held responsible and penalized. * If the defender is found braking excessively early to defend or to cause an incident they will be penalized.

**You are NOT allowed to overtake if order to make the pass its necessary to have wheels off the track in the grass or outside the white line boundaries.
EXAMPLE: At La Sarthe in the run from Muslanne to Indianapolis, if you have to cut across the grass in order to get by a driver while racing for position then you should not be overtaking. Or at Daytona trying to go two wide on between the turn 1 exit and turn 2.
This will be considered an illegal overtake & reckless driving which will be penalized

Track Position: If you gain a position by cutting a corner or pushing another driver off the track you must immediately allow that other person to pass you and give back that position back.

Blocking: Drivers are allowed one change of direction on a straight to defend. Its not considered a block if a car stays on its racing line while in a turn

Lapped Drivers: Back markers must yield faster traffic at the first safest opportunity. Lapped do not have to pull off the track to allow lead drivers by. Always allow faster lead cars to pass freely on straights.
Lead Drivers are not allowed to ram, push, or spin back markers off the track to get by - overtaking rules are still in effect.

Pit Lane: You must you the proper pit lane entry & exit section of the track. You must also slow down before entering the pit lane. (tracks like laguna you cannot enter the pits @ race speed) Drivers are not allowed to cross pit exit line when re-entering the track.

Race Incident reporting: To report a race incident (or a suspected incident) after the race post info on what happened and what lap in happened on in the group under the Incidents thread. You must give a lap or a time of when the incident happened.​

Qualifying:


** Qualifying Starts at ~ 11:30 AM Est - The time from when the lobby opens until qualifying starts is just free practice. Once qualifying starts you may not leave the track (( no going to adjust settings / no leaving to do oil changes ))

** All cars HP / Weight Regs will be checked before qualifying - Once this is complete all drivers will have 15-20 mins for qualifying. ( A Race timer will be set for a 1 lap race, This keeps everyone on the same deadline for qualifying)

** When a driver finishes a hot lap they will post it in the chat to be written down.

** 5 Mins before the race starts qualifying will end and the starting order will be posted.

** Double Header Rounds - The 2nd track / racewill have 10 mins for qualifying after the first race.​

Pace Lap:
** The 1st lap of every race is the Pace/Formation Lap. The Speed is restricted to 60 MPH |100 KPH ((exception to this is La Sarthe, speed is restricted to 125 MPH))

** Drivers must maintain 3 CAR LENGTHS Between each other. Again 3 CAR LENGTHS Between Each Car on the pace lap.

** Leader may go green when nearing the pit wall / pit lane enterance of the track. You may not pass untill crossing the start line ( lap 2)

Round 3: Double Header Round : Laguna Seca / Suzuka Short ( Two 30 Min Races)

Round 5: Double Header Round, Tokyo 246 & SSR5 ( Two 30 Min Races)

I'd love to do this, but it's too early in the morning for me. I doubt I can be up at 8A.M. on a Saturday.

So you scraped the other series?
Good that you got rid of the 905, terrible car, and hard to tune. Well, it's not terrible, just not nearly as fast as the rest.

905 is a good car.. Better then my 908. Has better tire wear and more consistent on worn tires.. At least at Le Sarthe.. Haven't tried it much at the other tracks..
 
^ This will be my new weekend series, not sure what im going to do to boost up the weeknight one.

This all seems very unnessercery. Why do we need a new series? It's identical to the other one except a different name and 4 cars aren't allowed...
 
But compared to the rest, it's just not as fast. I know the 905 has great tyre wear, i outran most of the competition in another race, because i was able to do one less stop, while keeping consistent times. It's just that the acceleration and cornering wasn't as good.

Sign-up first, lad, and you're welcome in the Audi, but a team name in a language that doesn't exist, no thank you. Be more creative, I know you can do better than that.

9 @the earliest. I have to get my kid up feed him myself, then I eat, get him dressed etc. Plus the gf always gets upset he wakes her up early on weekends. So she won't be helping.
