(Most of the action was on the track, missed it all) but..

I took a trip out to Oulton Park today, for a racing event dedicated to Historical Racing Cars. The racing was brilliant, as my camera can only store 13 photos. I had to resort to a phone camera for most of these shots. I haven't posted these in the DYSAGT thread, as I feel 65+ photos is a little excessive.

Some of these cars I don't know, specifically the older American models. There were some fantastic cars parked up at the track, as enthusiasts from all over come to view such events. Before the 5 races started, everyone was allowed to walk around the pit garages and generally chat to some of the people taking part. I apologise for the quality of the latter ones, but there is only so much power belted inside a small phone.

There were some fantastic cars here, my favourite being the Audi Quattro Rally Car. In-fact, there were two of them. To my surprise, 4 GT40's turned up, all legit too. There were other things knockin' about, so I'm just going to dump them all here instead of filling up the other thread..

Legendary..

The Datsun 240Z, well, two of them were anyway. What a car, I never thought I would see on in the flesh, absolutely amazing. Made a great noise too! 3 different models here, same case with the GT40.

The legendary Ford GT40, 3 of them! Well, 4 actually, as another turned up after lunch..

Alfa Romeo SZ, very limited, very powerful..

The only Ferrari situated at this event, strange..

And, the rest.. Taken on a phone, I had to save the best 13 cars for my limited space camera use..

Car Park felt like a Car Show...

Thanks & nice job

But 240Z's are not rare or Flashy maybe because 240Z & 280Z Are Pretty common here which are used for Drifting along with old Nissan skylines Other Than that Awesome show

That Chevy Firenza is unbelievably loud! I remember seeing it at the Chatsworth Rally Show a couple of years ago, gave me tinnitus when it took off... Second car on the video.

I didn't get to hear the sound of it, looked awesome though.

The loudest car was probably an old Corvette that was in the main race, among many old Aston's and Ferrari's. It actually made my ears pop.. :indiff:

240Z, 260Z and 280Z are fairly scarce in the UK, more popular elsewhere, particularly the US.

To the OP, i'm sure you know your cars but be careful with GT40s, as like the Stratos and Cobra there are far more very good replicas around than there are originals! If those four were all genuine, that's probably a once in a lifetime spot :)

Great pics by the way, particularly love the Metro 6R4s, Lotus Cortinas and have a lot of love of some of the more common cars there, such as the Vitesse and the MGB V8 👍

Great shots

What..! :boggled: - The Speed Stars thing I thought was pretty funny. I don't remember Iketani, Kenji or Itsuki owning an MR2 though. :P

@Tyger, I don't think all of the GT's are real, they sure looked it though. The interior was bang on and they all sounded amazing, thanks for the comments too.

An interesting collection of cars there! That Opel Manta had me stumped for a moment as I had no idea what it was!

The Cortina's were beautiful and correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure there was a Ford Thunderbolt...

All three of those GT40s are replicas for sure, the dark blue one was at the Chatsworth show, and the other two say Ford GT and GT 428, which are sure fire giveaways. The Stratos in my video was a genuine one, but there was another two there which were replicas.

OP is that a Gilbern Invader partway down? The yellowy-orange car. You'll forgive me for not attempting to quote/edit =)

Obscure, and very cool car.

Found a video showing the interior of the GT40 which is most likely a replica. What do you guys think? Any signs on replica truth? I don't think the blue one is, look at the engine. The 360 also turns out to be a replica, notice the blacked out engine cover? "MyCarCheck" says it is a replica. Damn good one though, I just struggle to see why someone would want a 360 replica.. Could have been done a while ago..

GT40 video: (Not mine)

So, with the 360 being a fake. It turned out there weren't any cars by Ferrari here. Until I found this brilliant photo, credit to Retro-Motoring.com

I wonder where this one was parked, it wasn't in the main, or side car-parks. Turns out this one is genuine.

SVX
Is that Cortina... The Cracker's?

Nope ;)

- We were ment to be racing at Donington the same weekend, but the engines were not quite ready.

There are a few familiar looking Mustangs/Falcons/Cortinas etc in those pictures though!

I'd imagine that the GT40's are replicas. Very few genuine ones are actually road legal.
