I am going on behalf of my local area paper. It is unlikely I will get the same access as say, Motor Trend (Although I am working on that:sly:). That being said, I will be there asking questions, getting stories, taking pictures and probably sweating in my sport jacket.

If there is anything you want me to ask, someone specific you want me to talk to, a particular car you want pictures of, or just general information you want to know, let me know and next week I will do my best to make it happen. 👍

Try to keep the questions short, simple and mature.

I will come back before the public gates open and start a new thread detailing my impressions and hopefully answers to your requests.

Could you have a look at the Ferrari F12? I'm not sure if they'll have one, but It would be nice to know what the styling is like in person.

Sure. I was planning on taking some close up shots of the car. Little details.

I have a feeling like it is the type of car you have to see in person. Where the press shots don't do it justice.

Perhaps overkill, but please get the new Viper.

I am assuming you mean pictures. ^^^^^^^

I wish I had a way to take photos with my DSLR and do instant upload like on my phone. I will try my best to get pictures up as soon as possible.

I too will be popping by the Javitz center. Hopefully there are some interesting reveals, the last couple of NYIAS's haven't been much by way of excitement.

Btw, paskowitz, awesome profile pic. Dr. McNinja ftw!

Ferrari and Lamborghini are never at the show anymore. Dealerships usually bring them and have a booth the entrance to the building but I don't remember them being there last year.

Nope, they're not there. Only special spots for them, they had a Gallardo last year.

And a Veyron.

New Impala please. Also Cadillac XTS/ATS. Thanks in advance.

These are only first impressions.

ATS: Great shifter. It is unique to Cadillac! No back seats if the person in the front is above 5'11''. More "space" than a 3 series, but overall less legroom. IMO this is kinda a deal breaker for me. Looks fantastic in person, though.

XTS: Very solid. Good fit and finish. Good amount of room, but for such a huge car, I expected more (see the theme). Again, looks great. Good materials. Intuitive interface. Can fit 3-4 full size dead bodies in the trunk.

Other Caddy news: Ciel is NOT DEAD! Its in that they are trying to figure out how to make it happen faze but it may not happen.

Perhaps overkill, but please get the new Viper.

Pics tomorrow. My DSLR broke. So phone shots will have to do. But I will try to get detail shots. I will say it now. CAR OF THE SHOW! Same engine as previous Viper but 640hp and 600ft/lbs. It is also MUCH lighter. 3190~ lbs dry weight. Almost as good hp/lbs ratio as F12 Ferrari. A lot of carbon fiber was used (hood, roof, trunk, and some internals). The chassis is the same but it is far more rigid (they are not just saying that, I saw the image of the raw frame an it looks pretty different from last gen. + there is now an X brace over the engine). Perreli engineered tires specifically for this car. 295F/355R I believe. MUCH MUCH MUCH better interior. IMO this is the biggest improvement. It is classy. I would say between a Ford GT and R8 in terms of quality. Ferrari sourced seats! Styling wise, I like the detail work. The car gets better the closer you get to it. Definitely modern retro. Finally there will two models, and I am happy to say Dodge/SRT gets it. GTS will have a nicer interior and more luxury, and slightly calmer styling, but be more expensive over the base. The base base has a more aggressive hood and is a little more "hard core" bare bones as described. There will also be a "track pack" option lessening the weight. ZR1 you have been put on notice. This easily trounces it in just about every category.

Oh the ALMS car looks great. Talked to ALMS President Scott Atherton. GT field will continue to grow. Nobody should be leaving in the immediate future. Lotus+Viper+Maybe Aston back again+maybe even MORE in the future (they are working on Audi). Prototype is kinda a mixed back. He wants Toyota to race here (it would be competitive with some minor tweaking), but Toyota does not want to commit and they think NASCAR is enough (booooo). Mention the ESPN3 crapshoot show but wanted to be respectful and not bitch. All I said was get John Hindaugh from the ESPN3/Euro broadcast to do the ABC/ESPN2 recaps. That is all. Probably does not give a crap what I think, but I would watch the recaps if he announced them.

That is all for now. Bed.
