How to ghost my car?

Hey,

While in online lobbies, I noticed people driving their cars while it is a ghost.

How do they do this?

Only way I can ghost it is while I am completely stationary and pressing the START button.

But these people are driving/racing like normal while in ghost mode!

Any suggestions?

1 - Penalties are on and they are a lap or more down
2 - Connection issues can cause ghosting (usually due to a slow connection)
 
I think when you pause while racing on the track the car keeps going around the track as a ghost.

Only if penalties are enabled - if they aren't then you can get run into.

Right on,I wasn't sure the conditions but I know I've seen it happen.
 
Weak penalty, the ghosting effect starts at between 270 and 310mph, depending on (yet to be determined), I don`t know.
And sometimes you anticipate going through the guy and you slam into him at 300mph.
I`ve hosted and been in lots of rooms, but I`m still nervous until I see the first car pass through. Heck I`ve even went through one car and slammed the car in front of him, it`s crazy.
