Hi,
If GT4 has fuel consumption, will that mean that many of the good cars from GT3, won't be so good anymore because of all the pit stops you'll have to make, eg. the Prius will be winning the formula 1 championship.

And if you wanted to bring your sim cars over to the arcade, you might run out of petrol while you're over there!
What do you all think?
Paddy.

if they do have fuel consumption, then i think they might have to add weight to the fuel, cuz you always hear about how in F1, they manage their fuel to the t to make sure they run out right after the finish line. but of course this would be quite hard to manage for us players because how are we gonna signal to our pitcrew that we only want just enough fuel to make it past the line.

I think that would bring alot more depth... but hey if your talking about signaling to the pit crew maybe they'll use the right analog stick to do so. But I think the game will tell you when to pit or have a guy from your pit crew tell you when to go in, now that would be awesome, hearing a guy tell you like, "Hey come into the pit at your next chance" or whatever. I mean I hope the pit crew does more than just for looks in the game you know what I mean. But all in all if they do add it into the game than that would be a major plus.

My speculation, not confirmed fact (well some people are dumb):
You could press start during a lap and select a few options such as amount of fuel, type of replacement tyre etc. Then when you enter the pits next they'll perform those mods. The more options you select, the longer it'll take (of course).
Perhaps also as it's a sim you could upgrade your pit crew at a cost so that they carry out the mods quicker (?)

In Nascar Heat 2002 as you enter the pit a window pops up with a list of pit options and what needs to be done to your car. You quickly select what you want done and they perform the necassary tasks. I assume if you're playing by yourself that you can pause while you're making selections but I was in a multiplayer game so I had about 10 seconds to figure out what needed fixing.

I hope they encorporate something similar in GT4.
