Well, I've been running this car all over the place, and it does happen to be my favorite car.

I'm looking for a little help from a few of the fast guys and gal. (yes, Lotus, I know the RGT is one of your favorites)

RUF RGT:
Full suspension
Sports Brakes
Brake Balancer
Semi Race Muffler
Sports Chip
Full Racing transmission
Triple Clutch
Racing Flywheel
Full LSD
T8 (super soft/super Sticky) tires
Stage 3 Lightweight.

This should land the car at 446 HP.

Two added pieces:
Yellow Bird ini file
and
Current Fast Lap Replay

Fast lap is 1'09.383. With a few quick mental gymnastics, I believe I can get very close to the 1'09/1'08 barrier. I'm interested to see how much faster, and where you all might gain time.

Thanks,

AO

LOL....

I looked at your time, down loaded the replay just to check the time... I was like

Thinking to myself, now d.a. has gotten much faster, maybe I should ask him about some new techniques or something.

Then I realized this was at midfield and not apricot hill... talk about some sweat off my brow. lol.

I think I may go get on this one, but if anyone is interested, later on I will post a ini. file that has a fully broken in rgt at the 452hp/2.500 pwr limit... I will get that up soon. ;)

Till then, good luck and have fun with this one... I know alta can create some fun stuff, so this race will indeed be a great run.

Just as an update, I've pushed that previously noted time down to 1'09.293. The kicker is I was faster in every sector than the posted lap except for three. I left 0.008 in sector 5, then dropped 0.110 and 0.088 in the two at the hairpin. For a total of 0.206 seconds. Now if I can figure out how to pick those two up and a smidgeon more, I'd make it to the 1'08 range. Will have to work on it.

Unless someone post a faster lap that I can study and see where I might gain some time.

Thanks

AO

Well a further update is necessary. I've been experimenting with the LSD to see what that can affect. So far, I don't think it does anything. I've gone from 5/5/5 to 60/60/60 and there is very little change in performance. The biggest effect I've seen is from softening and raising the suspension, but slightly sitffening the shocks. I've also relaxed the stabilizers. These combinations have netted me a gain to 1'09.149. Again, with nearly 0.150 left in the hairpin.

I figure with another 100 minles, I can post up a 1'08 run, and give everyone a chance to beat that time.

AO

As promised...

A white RGT broken in with 210 miles. (no more hp to gain)

With exactly 2.500 pwr.
However, I don't have the settings from my week 57 run, so you guys will have to go down load one of the faster replays to get a setup.

Good luck and have fun... if I get around to it, I will enjoy this run, let me see what I can do.

This is going to be a zipped file...
Save the zip to you pc, then extract the zip, then import the ini file using mks.

Edit: Done and done. :D
Low 1'09 area with plenty to come off I would imagine, but truth is... Im not a midfield specialist... now go get lotus or p on this and we will see what happens. :trouble:

Hey Slowpoke, I took a quick look at your replay this morning, and it shoed my biggest glaring mistake. I was running a real bad line through sector 6 (the second big 180) and this is where I drop nearly a 1/2 second in my run.

For most of the track, I was just slightly off, or a touch faster, than you. However, the big "Set to normal" function on that is that I've invested mearly 400 miles, where as your 1'08 run was the second one you ran :(

Thanks, and this gives a great benchmark to aim for.

AO

lol, don't kid yourself AO! That was my second run, but after I had run the car over the mileage limit and started to loose Horsepower! So it would be the second run PLUS a few hunnert miles

I think a very good Rumble Rider could get to the low 1:08's without too much trouble, but I'm not one of them:p ;)

I have a ? for both Der Alta and Gokents did you guys notice the differance in your 2 RGT's if not here is a pic

Yep, there is a slight difference, but it's allowable. The actual specs for week 57 were: Any Road Car weighing between 1100kg & 1150kg with a pwr equal to, or more than 2.500. Any means of tuning (except for hybriding) may be used to achieve the race specs.

I elected to use the chip instead of the balance because I listen to the engine for shift points. The balancing throws of my ear, and I end up messing shift points.

Slowpoke, I have a bit more of an ego inflation now. Knowing that I'm a scant 1/2 second off your time, and we've both invested a good amount of mileage makes me smile. NOw I've got to study that replay a bit more and see if I can pick that time up. 👍

I ran 12 laps real quick (boss lady is yellin' ;) ).

Best clean lap with the above was a 1:10.030.

Okay I guess with a basic set-up and the little time involved. Was trying to break into the 1:09's in 10 laps (promised her only 10 laps :D ) but couldn't do it. I see them, just couldn't get them clean. :irked:

I'll try this one again in a few days if I find time.

Tuff240, That's a pretty slick looking Volvo you've got there. Very nice. ANd yes, I'm slightly envious of the 78 SC. I've been enamored with the 83 SC turbo for some time.

I've not been back to this in a while, but while surfing your site, noticed you ran the RX-7 LM here as well.

You may want to check out :Return to Rotary day and Waaay back in the archives, you'll find the original Rotary Day. Also, milefile just opened up a Lotus 350 at Midfield as well.

Welcome aboard GTP.

See you around.

Hello Der Alta, thanks for the welcome and compliments. :D

easyed and myself toyed around a little bit with some rotaries on an old HGT thread I opened back up. I have a 787B time I ran there, but I did drop a 3rd wheel off in that run (that's why it's not on my replays page). There is more time in it for me, I just didn't like the car much and lost interest when easyed quit posting (he's busy with Torc I think).

Your Rotoary day also has the LM in full tune ( I think ) and I was only running it in stock form (600hp).

Looks like you kinda closed that htread down with your last post ( and it's a couple months old ). I'll just let that one die and wait for the next one to pop up. :D

I registered for the weekly series, so I'll be running some of those. I need to learn more tracks instead of just Midfield. :odd:

See ya around. ;)

Hey, Alta. I know this is kinda late. But I'm interested in running this. Give me a days and I'll run it and put my sector times and then the final time.

Hey Darin, Welcome aboard. I recently learned an interesting little fact. These spot races are an excellent way to see what you've learned.

This all stems from Rypien's Roatary day at Midfield. Nearly two years ago, there was a fairly large spot race, all invovling rotarys at midfield. I managed a farily goodtime. about 6 months ago, I re-ran it and bettered my time by nearly a second. Knowing that I'm decent at midfield, and I really enjoy the RGT I figured this was the next step. So perhaps a few months from now, I'll return and try again.

In more simple terms, These open spot races tend to stay open and serve as a marker of your progress.

Always love to have one more entrant.

I fully agree with you, Alta. I just started online racing here on GTP, and its really fun if you ask me. I'm sure its even funnier to download someones replay and then race againest it.

But what you said is true. Its like you don't play it for a couple monthes, you go back to it, your better than you were back then. Its weird.

Just give me sometime, cause I'm kinda tuning a RX-7 and trying to get myself Diablo JGTC through the gameshark (which is about more annoying as ever.), but yea, gimme some time and I'll post the time for ya and you can see what I run.

A RGT is also one of my most favorites. ;)
