Iceman's 400 Meter Shootout
Rules
Car- Any car with a power-to-weight ratio of 2 or more. This means a car of 1.999 is disqualified.

Track-400m, Sim mode

Modifications- Any, as long as the car remains within the acceptable power to weight range.

Tires- Supersoft or other if desired

Please PM times to me, along with the car used. Times will be posted and updated daily. Discussion of settings, cars, and overall times is allowed.

Just to get the ball rollin':

10.268 Viper GTS, 642 hp, 1301 kg, 2.026 PWR

Could get a little closer to 2.0 if I rag out the oil and upgrade the exhaust, but I doubt the 8 extra horses are worth the effort.
 
No need to look at the weight if the PW ratio is above 2. Good times too Hareturtle and 7.9Sec R34. You might want to check the PW agian on that Skyline because with 1000 hp it had a large advantage over the GTS Hareturtle used. I'm gonna get a few runs in with a car that I'm pretty sure can beat both of those times. Good Luck All, and lets see some more entrants. Oh and i'll put you on the leaderboard for now 7.9Sec R34, but you will have to post the remaining digits from the 9.8?? run for it to be included in the final results.
 
Just did a few runs with the Ruf RGT. Brought my time down to a 10.187. After looking closely at all the Skylines, I'm going to have to dispute your times 7.9Sec R34. None of the skylines would have a PW ratio of over 2 with 1000hp. I also did some runs with a Nismo Rtuned skyline and got only into the low 10.3xx range. I find it hard to believe that your settings gained an extra .5 seconds. If there is a mistake please corect it but for now I have to take you off the leader board.
 
Tried the Zonda C12S, 620 hp, 1250 kg, 2.016 PWR:

Nice time with the Ruf, Iceman, and good call on the deletion. I'll take a crack at the RGT and the R34 in a bit, but I've got some work to do at Complex String. ;)
 
Hey great time, got me beat by a little now. I knew something was fishy with that time when I saw 1000 horsepower, i knew the car would have to weigh more that 2000 pounds and a modern sportscar shouldn't weigh a ton. Than after taking out the RUF I realised his time must have been done with a rule breaking car. I didn't even spend more than 10 laps on the Complex race this week, that track is not for me. Keep workin at it though HareTurtle, it's nice to see someone get enthused about my race.

I don't usually like drag racing in GT3. No reaction time, no wheel spin (with TCS and super softs that is)... :indiff:

Well I'll give you guys some encouragement- My new best is a 10.102. If anyone wants to know what car I used, PM me. Don't want to spoil it for those who want to find it themselves.
 
Tried the R34 (Skyline GT-R V-Spec II (R34,J)) 657 hp, 1325 kg, 2.018 PWR

Wouldn't surprise me a great deal if Mustang Man showed up and ran this car under 10, though that 9.8 seems a reach. Still have the RGT to do , and I think I've got a pretty good handle on that one. But what is that mystery car. . .:confused:
 
Well, now that you beat me, its a xj220 race car. I believe it's running a stage 1 turbo. Awesome time Hareturtle. I'm sure you could beat my RGT time, I only spent about 5 min. on that one.
 
Now that time sounds more reasonable. And the L2 R2 trick does help in many cases but in some cars it helps to shift before the redline. You'll just have to experiment.

Updated time. Nice time with the Zonda Mdnite, took me a while to get under where you are at. Try the Xj220 race car or the skyline if it helps.

Tried the Zonda C12S again, to "reconstruct" my gear setup. I was starting from a setup for the full hp car, but didn't change much other than to launch in 1st rather than 2nd. But I did pull up the lower gears and lower the upper gears to get a tighter distribution:

Launch in first with just enough gas to bounce the tach, going to full throttle quickly as the car starts forward. This time around it ran 10.077.
 
Good call on the XJ220 Iceman!! Never would have thought to try it, but it's a real rocket:

Wow, looks like you really had a good run with it. I never would have expected it either. Could you PM me your settings? Times updated, with HareTurtle taking the top three spots!
 
I'd like to enter, I currently have an Impreza LM race car at 572 hp, running an average of 10.683. I have x-port video saves if you'd like to see them.
Are multiple entires allowed?
 
Yep. multiple entries are allowed. X-port replays are not required but can be posted on the thread if you want. Times updated.
