Now i understand why the PSP has so much power...

This is incredible. 10000 points for Sony. :)

that's pretty tite, but does it have any improvements over the existing ps2? other then it's smaller.
I'm sure they got rid of that annoying DRE problem. Other then that it should be the same, but no i-Link.

If that tiny little thing has the network adaptor and the HDD, then that is really impressive!

👍 Sony!

I don´t think it has. I don´t think it will support them either, maybe just the NA.

But it´s cool for those who don´t use HDD and NA.

It would look nice hanging on a wall next to a flat screnn plasma.

But what about the hdd and NA like i-6 asked?

Pic reveals built in NA !!!!!

That is crazy, I thought the PSONE was small compared to the PSX, but this is even smaller. I would buy one, but I gotta save up for my PSP.

expensive as ****!!!
:yuck:

When I saw the price, I was thinking to myself, "wow thats cheap".

I remember the days when a bare PS2 used to cost € 250. Considering all the advantages and technological changes, you can't argue with the price. And keep in mind that this is what they are asking at the launch of the PStwo. It will get cheaper.

Its weird how this info was kept from the public for so long. It will be up in the stores (atleast over here) by the 1st of November. Thats just 40 days away...

Why would I want a more "fragile" Ps2? - look how thin that lid+ good luck keeping it standing up when you try to switch dvds or when somebody step on your joystick wire. just my 2 cents.

Why are people *****ing about their PS2s being fragile?? What do you do with? Mine just sits under the tv. I don't play baseball with it or attack elderly women with it. I've had my PS2 for 4 years now. It hasn't got one scratch on it. And why should it? Well you tell me.

And for the price issue, $149 sounds like a bargain. This one is smaller, more pleasing to the eye and better equiped than a PS2 and therefore a prime target for replacement and brand new consoles. The price is only a tad over what a PS2 costs here. I'd buy one... if my PS2 wasn't in such good nick and i had the money.

Man, does that look nice!. If PS3 wasn't coming out soon, I'd sell my PS2 with it. Then again I'm going online quite soon with the PS2. Still, that is amazing.👍

Yet another link for the new PS2.

75% smaller - Due to the external power supply
Ethernet adapter built-in
Same price as the current PS2

I'd take one if I needed it. 👍

Also PS3 unveiled May 2005 at E3!!! (closely followed by GT5 hopefully) :dopey:

Actually, it will be revealed sooner then that. Sometime in January of February during some electronics show, I believe. But, it will be at E3, with possible demos to play. Some game makers have had dev kits for over a year now. The rest, or a lot more, got them at this years E3 show.

where does the harddrive go?

It's external, much like the new power supply. It connects to the new PS2 via a cable.

BTW... No harddrive can be used on it... (Not that it matters to me~)

I would exchange my ps2 for that from Bestbuy... But then I still have an year left on that warrenty... Might as well wait for the PS3 or Xenon (Xbox2)...

or psp. or more games for your current ps2. this whole thing seems a little stupid to me.

It's like those cell-phone users that brag about how sleek and svelte their new model is yet never mention how important most of it's "new" features are. Style over substance.

This is just...smaller. Unless you desperately need the shelf space, there is no point.
