like everyone else said, its definatly much better then Prologue and Nurburgring Demo

since i got the GT3 save, i started off with an extra 10million CR. this was more then enough for me to purchase a Evolution 8 MR. i had a tough time deciding which i should get, a EVO 8 MR or the evo 8 RS or the WRX STi Spec C. in the end i choose the MR, cuz i just love it so much.

i actually went ahead and did B license first. got silver on my first try. what a waste of time.
since i hate doing license, i went straight ahead using my Evo8 and race those crappy cars in sunday club.

did a few race here and there, went into professional hall and notice that i can do Clubman race using B-Spec mode if i didnt have an National A license, so tried that, and won 300,000 CR seriously, B-Spec mode is great. easy money for those lazy ppl that dont wanna do license but wanna tune cars.

also the mystery mode someone talked about earlier is actually just racing other cars on the track. no entry fee required.

someone also posted that a dodge ram, or S2000 using other car's stock wheels. these wheels are purchased in Wheel of the day selection

tires are another cool factor.
Street tires are classified into Street, Comfort and Economic. obviously Street are the ones like Neova AD07, RE-01 type tires. while comfort is more like pilot sports, and economics are ur average RE-92 or Turanza type tires
Sport tires are actually Advan A048 or similar S-Tires. u get 3 differen compund to choose from, hard, medium and soft. my Evo8 MR came with medium sport tires (Advan A046)

this is it for now, continuing to play :p

B-Spec mode:
not really "that" great.... the AI is completely retarded... i made a ghost car on tsukuba with my own EVO8 MR with a time of 58 something seconds... the AI was slower then my time by nearly 10 seconds.
at full aggressive mode, the AI always drive into the grass and almost lose control

exhaust note change:
after installing the stage 3 turbo, i notice the car is ALOT louder and rougher.

update 12/31:
Stock M5 on Tsukuba 59.853, half a tank of gas did around 22 laps on the track day session
newest lap record is now 59.800 on the 40th lap

2am: entered the BMW M-series race with B-spec. it seems the more u use B-Spec, the better the AI is. my AI was able to beat the competitors by huge margin

Car Review
+ Subaru Impreza WRX STi Spec C 04
this car is great, i didnt even bother tuning it cuz most opponents drive stock cars. but this car just handles VERY well even in stock form, it is the best handleing car i've driven so far in this game

+ Amuse S2000 R1 Titan
very balanced car, i was able to win all those american V8 cars like corvette, mustangs in the NA tune race series by quite a bit. despite having only 268HP and hardly any torque.

+ BMW M5 '05
this thing is a beast... handles like dream, even having 1700KG weight, it doesnt feel like it, the engine sounds great and powerful. another really fun to drive car.

overated cars:
- MB SLR McLaren
it is very fast, but abit boring to drive. (on regular circuits like Fuji) not very impressive handling either.
edit: after taking this car to the Nurburgring, its a totally different beast..... this thing CAN NOT be driven on Japanese based circuits.... it belongs in the Nurburgring.... fastest lap so far is 7:27.120 with the SLR McLaren.
the braking power and its stability under braking is what this car is all about.

- Impreza 22B STi
Rare, good looking, claimed to be the "Best Street Car" back when it was released in 98. maybe it got to do with the one i got which is used and had over 50k KM on the odo.

- Option Stream Z2
absolutly no cornering at all. huge turbo lag. but then this car is tuned for top speed. not a very useful car, cuz all it can be great on is test course.

these are only some of the cars i've driven extensively.

also
no problem loading the game with my SCPH-10000 system modded. the very first batch of PS2 that even included the buggy DVD player firmwire that allowed All Region playback ;)

so if i can play, anyone's machine should be able to read the D9

Nice, I like the different options for the tires, also thanks for the confimation of early JP PS2s being able to play the game, I was a bit worried :)

It sounds like you're coming in in the middle...

So if you have a GT3 game save, you get bonus money?

Pretty weak review, but I understand it! Good for you with even bothering! If I was in your shoes I would be playing GT4!

Anyways...

"someone also posted that a dodge ram, or S2000 using other car's stock wheels. these wheels are purchased in Wheel of the day selection"

That's interesting! I'd love to put Dodge Viper Competition Coupe chromies on say.. a 1971 Charger 426 Hemi, lol! Those would look mean!!

Oooh! You get extra money at the start if it finds a GT3 save file? Nice! :)

Can anyone confirm this? Im pretty sure the vast majority of the people on this forum, at this time, have a save for GT3. I know I do:). But, I also think this might make the game waaaay less challenging and I will probably opt not to do it.

ya u get extra 10million at start if u have GT3 save, if u have GT4P save, u get to skip national A and B license

Great, I have to check if I still have my save from GT3 on one of my memory cards, before my Import game arrives.

The 10Million CR sounds fishy. But since I haven't gotten a chance to play GT4 nor a demo (Damn you PD!) in the US.

So, right now I'm 75%-truth, 25%-fake.

But no offense. Its a good review. Ok, so not really indepth, but hey its a review. 👍

How do you mean the 10mil credit sounds fishy? It's what you get if you combine game saves with GT3.

10,000,000 credits could be the JPN version. The US version might start out with only 10,000 credits and then you might only be able to import 100,000 credits from your GT3 save.

Is ther any certian percentage you have to be at or just any random save(i.e 0.0%) and still get money?

hmm
i dunno
my GT3 is around 70% complete only... but i got a lot of money in that save

That's what I meant. 10 million CR? You could buy a good share of cars.
I thought, WTF!?

But I think you're right. Uh, Hyde, I think you mean 10 million yen or something like that.

Does it automatically give you the extra credits because of the GT3 save game, or can you choose to get the extra credits?

When you start the game, there will be a message to remind you what you have to do if you have a GT3 save. You can do credit transfer anytime as you like in Game Status page.

Does it modify your GT3 save in anyway?

He has the Japanese version so the credits are yen based. The Chinese version has [American versions will have] credits that are USD based. So 10mil Cr in the Japanese version won't exactly totally upset the initial gameplay. You'll just start out in a Evo instead of a Miata.

I think somewhere in GT4 save game records your transfer activity, as I have tried to import GT3 save twice with two different memory card and of course it is not successful.

That was expected. :)

But after the credit transfer, does your GT3 save drop by the equivalent amount? So in essense, you've traded over that much money between the two games?

No idea then, since my GT3 is not in my hand at the moment. I won't mind it takes 10,000,000Cr from my GT3 save as I have more than 1,000,000,000 Cr, thanks to credit bonus in GT Concept. =)

Thanks for the new update Hyde! I not much into this B-spec but still will use it for enduros, perhaps some sound clips for the Stage 3 Turbo...

Really? I have all the GT games and all saved on the same memory card. I had to complete all the licenses from scratch. Ah, my Prologue is the Chi. version and my GT4 is the Japanese. version. Is that the problem?

It is the problem, only Japanese GT3, GT4P save game can be transferred to Japanese GT4.
