Right. Enough.

Drifting

This is the summary of all the discussions on the concept of drifting so far. In the world. Ever:
  1. Some people love it.
  2. Some people hate it.
  3. The people who love it think that the people who hate it are idiots.
  4. The people who hate it think that the people who love it are idiots.
  5. Drifting on the public highway is not cool.
  6. Drifting on the public highway is an offence that should be punished severely and painfully.
  7. Drifting != Racing.
  8. ... but that doesn't mean that either are better or worse. See points 1-4 above.
  9. Drift competition is gathering momentum. It is experiencing increasing budgets and increasing popularity. This is likely to change the face of Drifting as a sport. Deal with it.
  10. Yes, drifting is a sport, that involves engines. Therefore it is a form of motorsport. Deal with it.
  11. Drifting in computer games does not involve engines, and therefore is not motorsport, and should not be discussed in a motorsport forum. Deal with that too. And no smart-arsed comments about the PS2 "Emotion Engine" either.

Continuing to re-hash the same old points is boring. There is nothing new to be said. Back away from the conversation.

From now on, all threads discussing the merits of drifting as a concept will be closed. This includes threads that veer onto the topic of the concept of drifting from something else.

Please feel free to continue to talk about drift competitions, about the drivers or cars. Even to publicise your own events if you're organising them (so long as they are legal). But please, no more conversations on whether drifting is good or bad, is or is not a sport.
