Oh look, a clean Mission 34 video!

I just passed Mission 34 tonight. I made a video to show that it can be done without leaving the track, :dopey: and with some delays (got caught behind the 190 EvoII at the long double right leading onto the straight, and I made a mess of the last corner.)

Hehe. Very nice Daan. Got a tad "is he going to make it" feeling there in the end.
 
Well the pal version is DEFINATLY EASIER!!! I looked at that video and the PAL version gives you the green light at exactly 1:55:00 while the NTSC version makes you sit there for 8 more seconds!! My car didnt get the green light untill 2:03:00!!!

Thats a huge difference.. So far i got a best time of + 4.5 and it seems that if it was a Pal version i would have won by 2.5 seconds :(

stupid NTSC version grrr!

Edit: So if you have a PAL version and you think you are good.. try to sit on the starting line for 8 more seconds and then try to win.

Edit again: combine that 8 second earlier start with the fact that the 300 SL finished in 9:16.477 which is about 3.5-4 seconds slower than the times that it posts in the NTSC versoin ..

that gives the PAL guys a total of 11.5-12 seconds advantage over the guys that have the NTSC version.

Maybe your McLaren Merc SLR is quicker than ours. 💡
 
I tried doing that mission. Gawd that one is tough. I was barely on the straight before the old Merc made the finish. I can't get it to corner like I know it should. Guess I just need to practice, practice, practice.
 
It does look like it's easier in the PAL version. I had to cut couple of S-turns through grass to make up a few seconds. In a sense, I'm making up for the few seconds that the PAL version is able to start ahead of the NA version.

Now that someone has done it clean in the PAL version. Let's see who can do, record, and post a clean run for the NA version. I'd be really impressed and idol him like god.
 
very very close, mebe you coulda shaved off a few miliseconds by blippin the brakes less on the long corners. however very neat and tidy, u get a bow *bows*

very clean and very close finish for such a long race. I have tried this one twice and I'll just say I need to practice a bit more. what upsets me the most about that mission? well if the gearing of the SLR was a little shorter it would be done easily. I mean on the long straight you only wind out fourth gear (I think) anyway congratulations DAAN. I have completed 30/34 of the missions.
 
:mad: Well I just completed that damn mission today and it took many tries and in the US we have to wait until the clock says 2'03" to finally take off. Good job, I know it's hard. 👍
 
I tried over and over and over last night, about 10 times in a row... got better then worse as I tried to find speed somewhere. It looks like I am using the same line as you but hard to really tell. You may be braking a bit latter than me on some corners, but I am so scared of running off in the grass and loosing mass time. The best I have been able to accomplish is +11.00 I am catching my first car at the carrousel.
 
Well at least I know there is some hope...last clean run I eeeked out 3rd but still 7 seconds behind I think. I figure it I did that with a DS2 and I know I'm better with a DFP I'll probably get first no problem. Damn that long irritating wait :grumpy: I just tune into some tv till it's almost time :dopey:
